Aspergers and Schizophrenia share similar traits, and is this true?

I've heard the same thing, but can't remember where . . .

Well both aspies and schizos feel immense paranoia... it could well be true.

In something my mother read Aspies wre more likely than Nts to develop schizophrenia.

Well, in DSM III, Autism was referred as Childhood Schitzophrenia. Now, in DSM IV, Autism and AS are in a class by themselves. There isn't a lot of correlation between Schitzophrenia and AS.

Schizophrenes and aspergers both tend to isolate themselves a lot. They are also often in their thoughts, or daydreaming. I was afraid I might have mild schizophrenia a few years back, as I could think all day long (in an almost catatonic way).
