A bit after midnight, my friend and I went to the local convenience store. We were going to smoke outside, but decided to go somewhere else. We got into his car, and we were about to back up when all of a sudden, another car comes up and parks near us. 2 guys get out (one of whom appears to be carrying a gun...), and they leave the car running. We see them go directly up to the register..
I'm 99.9% sure it was a robbery...
We drove out of there as fast as we could...When we got down the main road a way, we thought we saw them start to approach us. Not sure though, because all we saw were headlights coming down the road really fast. We turned, and they followed. Eventually we got away though....
He dropped me off at my house and went back there to check it out. He said he didn't see blood, but he also didn't see the guy who was working there....
It's almost 3am here, and I'm not tired. I don't know if i'll be able to sleep. I just want to wait to see if they mention anything on the morning news....

You never realize how scary life can be until one little decision saves your life...

I'll second that -- two months ago we had a shoot-out around where I live: I was awakened by the noise, and saw some people running around outside. It took a little while before I got back to sleep. The next morning, the whole area was teeming with police cars and forensic tech crews.

Funny enough, less than 18 hours before that happened, I had been "bragging" about being the kind of guy that never experiences anything dramatic in person, but only reads about it in the newsmedia... :D

Crime is definitely on the rise...again.

When I worked in Radiology at a hospital in my hometown, it seems like every day there was a shooting victim brought in. Sometimes, the drug dealer would follow the shooting victim into the Emergency Room...and the police would arrive and locked
down the hospital so no one could go in or out of the hospital. Those were scary times.

Drugs are everywhere, but living upstate from New York City, we get alot of drug trafficking...especially in those communities close to the New York Thruway.

On Sept. 13, 2006 I was going shoppping downtown; I was going to go through the tunnel from the subway into Dawson College but decided to go shopping first. About 3 minutes later the mall (which was connected to the subway and ther school) was evacuated, as the school was being shot up! Right in the atrium where I would have been had I not decided to go shopping!
