Often when I'm depressed, I don't feel satisfied with who I am. I feel like I'll (and by I, I don't mean my character, but my SOUL. As in, my CONSCIOUSNESS. I'm perfectly organized in that other way, thank you very much.) always be in many pieces and they'll never find each other, so the pieces will have to look elsewhere for friends. So they look outside of my head (since there's no stimulation inside any more) and start collecting things that I might use in a better life once I get one: clothes, accessories, makeup, other stuff. And I become very particular about it... counting the stuff sometimes, organizing and reorganizing it, making sure nothing was stolen and havign a panic/depressive episode when I can't find something in my stuff or in my mother's, so I decide it must have been stolen, and then there's anger too, and I have a mini-meltdown, and think and say, "OMG, I've been robbed!" And it's also the feeling that someone GOT ME GOOD that gets me. That they were able to steal from me. That they got one over on me. That they got the best and the better of me. It drives me a bit nuts when I have nothing else to cheer me up, and am really clinically depressed. My posessions have me.

I have OCD and it does get worse when I'm depressed or really stressed out. I don't necessarily feel that way about possessions though. Today at work, I felt stressed and I had to start touching things a number of times and I started freaking myself out and then almost ended up having a breakdown.

My OCD is worse when I'm depressed / stressed / anxious.

Sometimes I can use it in a positive way - e.g. to handle the task that is causing the stress in a meticulous and thorough way.

But other times it can cause more problems.

I also get worried if I can't find my posessions - although this is partly because my parents have stolen from me before - and then bragged about it afterwards!! !

OCD some. I've been able to curb most once I realized I did them. Depression does boost it, though.
Twitches get me. Really hate them. Tell myself that no one can see them...no sure if they can or not.

I'm not OCD or have any particular OCD traits. When I get depressed, I get depressed in the very sense of the word. The last thing I'm able to do it is be O/C. In regards of possessions, I become more careless and disinterested if anything and my place usually ends up looking like a tornado came through. After bad bouts, it can take months to get my rooms back in order and I often throw out bags and bags of trash. I have gone though loads of stuff that got ruined during bouts of depression because of my lack of proper care of them. I may make poor choices in spending my money, often going by impulse than planning or need, but that's not the same as OCD.

When depressed, I have problems with anxiety/excessive worrying, "cyclic" thinking (thinking that keeps coming back to the same conclusion, unable to look at different prespectives or options) and overriding negative thoughts, but that's part of the depression. I also get more irritable, myopic, hypersensitive, and fussy about certain things, but again that's just what depression's like.

I just cry for a few minutes when I get depressed.

It's hard for me to identify a depression until it's pretty bad, but there are signs I can identify, and OCD type thoughts are one. I used to be convinced that terrorists would nuke our downtown, and I avoided going within a few miles of it. At the time, it made sense to me, but it seems silly now. More recently, I was convinced that I was losing my hair, so I stopped taking one of my prescriptions that I thought responsible.

My OCD is severe so I am bad pretty much all the time, but I do notice that it gets much worse when I am depressed. It is the same with my Tourettes, I am usually quite unnoticeable tic wise, but when I am depressed I get these tics which lock my joints into strange positions... It hurts... I am a little depressed right now because I HATE MY COLLEGE...
