I think this is particularly for the mood-swingers/depressives here. Anyone else experience this before a mood-crash? Like you're trying desperately to hold up the walls of a crumbling house but you know at some stage you're just going to have to let go and let it all crash down on your head?

I can't decide if it's better to just let go and go with it, or try and fend off a depression when you feel it lurking in the background. Does it ever work? I think probably not, but I'd be interested to hear any thoughts about this.

This is a good question, because I can not decide if fending of a depression works or not.
I sometimes think that the time when the depression is on hold is the end of the cycle and the depression that comes after it is a new one. But other times I think that when it comes it is the same one that comes ever stronger.
I suppose that is the difficult thing with cyclic events when one finish and the next start.

It's a strange feeling isn't it, being 'on hold'. I feel like it could go either way at the moment. Last night it felt like a huge wall of misery was heading my way, but this morning is better. I'm going to try and fend it off by keeping busy, active and positive if poss. I think I've tried this before and it only works for so long, but today I'm in a fighting-it mood :)

I only works for so long, but if the so is long enough and if the time in between is passable enough (may be happiish) I thing that you could call the crass the next crisis. That could mean that you has been successful.

Don't pay any attention to me. I am somehow dreaming..

I think that a fighting mood is better than a waiting one! wish you luck

(keep me inform of the result please)

Yeah I feel I have to fight against it all and yes I hold out for a while sometimes but - it does eventually happen.

I get this a lot. I will get excited and get on to things for a while and then feel it peaking out. When I allow myself to get too excited and upbeat I always eventually tire. I feel like I'm ready for a major disappointment before it even comes. I also get hyper sensitive to people and situations. I start to feel like everyone and everything is just picking at me and I feel like I could explode any minute. Sometimes when I get in a really bad mood I fantasize about screaming "f*** off" in front of people.

My misery always gets worse when I don't get enough sleep. It's good when I can sleep it off and feel better the next day, but it usually takes several days to recover.
