I posted something similar to this a while ago in the "general" section, but I didn't get much of an answer at all. I think it's a rather relevant topic, and should at least be thought about.

Anyways.

A few weeks ago, I was in my car driving to get some things from the grocery, and came to a stoplight with a school bus to the left of me (I live in the US, so I was in the front left, as opposed to right seat) so that I could see directly up the stairs to where the bench seats are, coming almost even with the front of the bus itself. In the part of my town where I live, the high school I attended (I'm in college now) was close enough so that I had to either walk, or ask my mother to drive me there every morning, removing the need to ride a bus.

This means that the only time I rode the bus to school (relevant to the topic) was in middle school. which was by no means pleasant for me.

Anyways, to the main point: when I looked over up into the school bus, memories of being bullied, pushed around, etc.. came rushing back into my head. Are these events things I had just forgotten? Or were they suppressed? What's the actual difference between the two, when it comes to unpleasant memories?

Perhaps your subconscious is trying to block those unpleasant memories? It seems like that school bus is the trigger that reminds you of those bad times. So, if you keep seeing the bus too much, you could end up unblocking those memories, maybe not...

But were they things that were just forgotten, such as a homework assignment, phone number, etc.. or something that was (sub)consciously removed in the aspect of psychology?

I don't know. I don't know you, so I can't just guess like this.
