ok, my mother has been taking effexor for the last two months. i went to go wash my hands right now and she has dishes in the sink from yesterday that are still dirty and she told me she doesnt want me washing my hands in the kitchen sink anymore, because im fiilling up her sink and it will overflow. wtf? excuse me? i do my fair share of chores around the house and i defintley dont leave dishes sitting in the sink until the next day, and then get pissed off because someone washes there hands in the kitchen sink. i want kick my moms ass so much, shes such a stupid b***h. she was not this wierd before she started taking a antidepressant. then about a week ago i had a cellphone i dont use and she demanded it for "cellphone for the troops" a program were war vets get your cellphone, i didnt have a problem with giving up my phone but she was like nagging me for days to give it to her. and thats not all shes always giving away our f****n' food away to food drives and s**t. its like hello b***h we dont have any food as it is so quit giving ours away, shes also has lost 50 pounds and is on a wierd exercise program, washes clothes all nite and day over and over again disrupting my beauty sleep, (im a light sleeper and can hear a mouse fart across the street! :( ) and plays online games most of the weekend!

i dont think im going to last 2 1/2 months, this s**t is driving me crazy and everyone else my age seems to be living on there own already

so is she acting wierd because of the old age, shes in her 40's or is it the drugs! :x

Hi

I am strongly opposed to people taking drugs, especially long term unless vital of course. Having Aspergers can be very isolating and feel with drugs its far to easy to withdraw more from reality... I have written article on: Do Not Drug Us - Understand Us, may help: http://asplanet.info/index.php?option=c ... Itemid=105

I grew up with a mother who continually took drugs and never found her true self, she was never diagnosed with aspergers , But she never felt she belonged in this world and since she died last year, I discovered I have aspergers which explains so much and for the first time ever can understand her and myself.

Unfortunately if we take drugs or not, as we get older we can get very set in our own ways, worlds! I'm trying not to as still have children, but living a life time and wanting to please everyone else and feeling at times like an actor in this world. Sometime I wonder is there an option!
Just some thoughts I wrote earlier...
"After years of fighting the unknown, I feel I have been acting a part in this world, it was like my life was on hold until now. I have no energy to want to please everyone else anymore, just want to be able to at last be me. At times it can be very lonely and feel quite isolated, but I know opening up to the world is the right thing to do, and as other people start their new journeys, I will be there for them.."

Try and keep communitions open, which I feel is so important, often in our own worlds, we can neglect the things/people that are most important to us.

I've had an experience with with effexor for about 2 months, it made me either psychotic (as in curled into a ball with a knife threatening anyone who tried to come near me to being incredibly paranoid to havening almost OCD (more then the usual aspieness). But that was me and every medicine can effect people differently so i'm not sure what to tell you.

I am not a professional but do know quite often when my mother was given drugs she quite often became suicidal, and we was told at one point that drugs for depression can make manic depressive (then, now bipolar) people worse, I also feel now she had Aspergers also.

But that was some time ago, the thing is not all drugs have the same effect on everyone and work. And maybe drugs for NT, do not work the same on Aspies, just a thought!

This article may be worth a read:
