I wish I had the house to myself more
It's not that I hate my parents. Rather, if they weren't around, I could sing, I could play instruments. It kills me because I really need the practice...They kinda understand, they wouldn't object if I practiced, but I've heard them complain that the high pitches on a flute hurt their ears, so when I try to play them, it just doesn't work. If I mess, up I know it's been heard. I know that everything I play is being heard. I can't help but feel I'm being judged.
Now I'm just feeling self destructive for no reason.
I just wish I could sleep. Almost every night, laying awake three hours before I can sleep. It's not fair, I'm worse in every aspect when I'm tired. And I just get more and more tired. Maybe tonight will be different?
I didn't take a nap today, and I think my naps may be the source of the problem. So I can try to break that habit, but sometimes I just end up passing out.
I guess my concern is...look at me. Never sleeping, not keeping up with practices of any sort, I'm rotting. Next semester I get all these hard courses and extracurriculars. Will I rise to the occasion? Or will I just continue to rot, but with harder consequences?

Life gets a bit anarchic when you're in holiday mode. It takes a while to get back to regular routines.

As for practice time, maybe you could suggest to your parents, "I was thinking of doing an hour every morning starting at ( ____ ), but if it suits you better, I could do it at ( ____ ) instead; what do you think?" Then make it a point to do it, every day, whether they're around listening or not. If you make mistakes... well, that's what practice is for, right? And if the noise of playing does trouble them, they will quickly find reasons to be out of the house at those times. :)

Thanks
As it turns out, practicing doesn't bother my parents as long as I'm in another room. I'd still rather find time to practice alone, but I'm getting better at tolerating the presence of others when I'm playing. Also getting better, which helps.
Sleep is better, but still not perfect.
So, next semester isn't far off, and I hope I do well in that scary scary honors English class.
