There are hardly ANY laws or citizen's rights that I can read anywhere in regards to the laws where I live.
The few that I have found basically say that they can do as they please...ie. citation doesn't have your name,
they can correct it...citation had wrong anything, they can correct it...Nowhere does it EVEN say that the
officer must be present to issue a citation...So basically, it's a he said/she said contest with them against us.
Meanwhile, of course, the people without money get free representation...we on the other hand have to
fork out hundreds/thousands of dollars to defend ourselves from this mess.

I feel like I am about to lose it. I can't think straight...and I DO have a job, and I do homeschool my kiddo
and have a thousand other things to worry about (selling our house...etc...).

Have any of you ever been in this situation and what have you done about it?
I really feel like I'm going to melt/collapse by the time the week is over.

I can't say that I have been in the situation. My run-ins with court proceedings were in my youth and my own damn fault.

I'm not sure what your issue is, or where you live. All I can say is do your best to find a little time for you to avoid a meltdown, because those I have plenty of experience with, and they never make things any better. If talking helps, find someone you can talk to, just to let it out, if nothing else. Real life, here, wherever.

Get some you time, even a little, and that will help your head get on straight. Hard to do in a tough situation, I know, but necessary. If you can let some of that pressure out in a good way, you can think a little more clearly.

Thanks duncansbass...I'm trying to figure out how to do that...

My week normally consists of working 8 hours (minimum-work from home/meetings, etc...), taking my son twice a week to speech therapy, tomorrow is a double dose of speech therapy and music class for him...then cleaning house because we are in the process of selling our house and people call every other day to come see it...

I was hoping to get away, but sadly, I'm not sure where. What has gotten me to the breaking point IS where I live, and the unthoughtful people here...etc...so I don't even want to leave my house...and then, my mom is flying in to take care of our son, as we have nobody who can keep him while we go to court...and well, let's say, she drives me up a wall with every single suggestion that she gives...she doesn't stop...she has to tell me how to do everything...and always ends up arguing with me...(and it's not just me, she does this with my sister and grandmother too...)

I was hoping she'd be here Sunday, just two days before court so that my husband and I could at least "drink it off" (no we're not drunks, but we'll listen to music and have some wine off and on) and relax...but she's decided to come in tomorrow. Just today she's called me about 5 times already!

I know, I should be grateful she's flying in, but I'm overloaded and she doesn't understand that I am overloaded and need to relax...hmmm

As far as our issue, I do not believe it was fair. Actually, we received a citation the day AFTER the incident...first the cop insinuated it was the electric company guy, but we're now thinking it was the worthless security guard where we live that has a friend who's a cop...because the cop wasn't even there to witness it...so, I don't know how he can give us a citation for something he was not a witness to...

There's so much fraud around here, it's not even funny. That's what has caused me to meltdown at this point. There is no break.

Anyway, thanks for your help...I will see what I can possibly find to relax during this time.

it's about the power company disconnecting our power for
what they claim is non-paymet...but the amounts charged
are over 23cents per kWh...and estimated amounts, not real
amounts...

They came to reconnect the power after more than 8 hours
and only because we called again and at almost 11pm at night.

Either the security guy or the power guy charged us
with disturbing the peace because while they were
connecting it we were angrily talking about the mess
they had created and how we constantly have to take
Time off work to solve the mess and fraudulent charges
.

There were no police called and the citation was
brought to us the day after the incident on a he said
she said...

I'm worn out and need out of this nightmare island we live in.
