If your on medication it must be for a reason, I choose never to take even when my Psychologist said I should. Maybe this article will help you think through things, but please do not stop taking medication without professional advice...

Thats what most Asperger people get when we ask for help, pills pills and more f*****g pills. I visited my doctor with extreme premenstrual problems cause by taking the contraceptive pill a couple of years ago, and dispite describing many physical symptoms and terrible pains, nausea, sweats, insomnia, huge migranes etc, all he did was offer me Prozac and another sodding contraceptive pill, no investigative tests, not even a simple blood test to check for basic things, nothing. They have prescribing targets to meet, set by drug companies, regardless of what country you live in etc, they don't care if you have side effects because they can just prescribe more pills to "treat" them too!

If you want to come off of medication your really need some professional advice, yopu can ask my on site Clinical Psychologist advice http://asplanet.info/forum/index.php?board=19.0 but really I would go and discuss with your doctor who knows you and your situation.

Do you mean you had to take the medication for medical reasons or were made to for others reasons!

Even in a psych ward they can't make you take meds, believe me, I've been there. You need to get someone to be an advocate for you, to speak for you when your voice isn't being heard. Is there a parent, a friend, or a therapist that can help you out with this?

Unfortunately they may not the case so much now, but back when my mother was in hospital she was made too, seen it. It does happen, rules get broken, staff cut corners etc..

I was also nearly forced to take medication that was not needed, long story, but my mother was in hospital and my twin brother and older sister were ill, because they had no where for me and my older brother to go we were also put into isolation and a few times the nurses tried to force me to have medication, but I fought them and as was not sick was not made to take, maybe it was for precautionary reasons but no consent and I was not asked or told why!

Lightning88, if you want to post all about your experiences please please do it. :) I don't know the feeling of being on tons of meds but I do know the feeling of people just giving you one thing at a time to help and that no one thing would do it. My depressive problem was like that. No one thing would get rid of it.

It's not just pills, pills and more pills but useless advice like "Ignore it", "It's all in your head", "Just shut up", "Do or say something positive for a change", "If you were taught how to read people you'd be happy", "Go reada book or watch a movie or something", "Register for school", whatever.

Ugh.
