Once in grade 7 this girl who teased me with other richie-rich or wannabe rich private school girls was impressed by the mark I got on this project and said I should be proud of myself and was I? I shrugged or something and she said "Well, I'D be proud if I got 96%!" (Or was it 94?)

Once last year my father said this story I wrote about a school shooting was very realistic and I should write adventure novels.

Once when I was 16 my father said that the skin I made for this board I made looked very professional and better than the skin on this board I went to that had over 4000 members.

Once when I was 12 my aunt said I was so intelligent and mature and had gotten so mature she was embarrassed around me.

Once, about my stuffed bear, my mother said "I love Charity because I love you."

Once when I was 12 and wrote a story about kids being abused and being scared of their father my father was really impressed and called it very realistic.

Once when I was 13 and got perfect on science test my parents were so pleased just because I got 100% on this one test and said I definitely had the brains to be a scientist and that.

Once when my history teacher in grade 8 was showing us our marks before we got our report cards, when it was my turn she said I could do much better. I took it as a compliment. One or two other times also when I got highish or high marks my teachers said I was capable of higher achievement. I took that as a compliment too. :)

Good topic idea, Ana54. The Haven needed something positive like this. (:

Today I was talking to one of my friends, who is a year younger than me and who had had a tough day, about backstabbing friends and not knowing where you belong. I told her that last year I felt exactly the same way. I didn't know who my friends were and I felt completely alone. She told me that she can't imagine me having no friends because 'I'm so me'. That felt really nice.

Also, I recently found a new way to style my hair and a few people told me that it looked really pretty.

Last year I got told multiple times that I looked exactly like Drew Barrymore.

Monday a friend asked me to explain a chemistry concept to them since she had a test later that day. After I explained how to do the stuff and drilled her with a few problems, the class ended so we had to go to the next period. On Tueday she told me that she did really well on the test and now occasionally calls me the "Chemistry Goddess". lol

Another time in Chemistry class, we were doing a worksheet and people were asking me to help them with it, since I'm good at Chem and we had a substitute. After I explained how to do the stuff, a guy complemented me and told me that I would make a great teacher.

A few weeks ago I was having a rough day and I got a bit mad at one of my friends. I sent her an E-mail apologizing and the next day she told me that she wasn't angry because she believes it's impossible for anyone to be mad at me.

My English teacher asked me if I had ever thought of majoring in Literature. She also told me that the argument in my essay was very intelligent and that I have a gift for writing and interpretation.

I have a teacher who has a young son who was recently Dxed with AS. My teacher was really worried about his son's future and told my mom that 'my success' gave him hope for his son.

Someone from my university wind ensemble said that I was really smart for someone with AS because I was AWARE of certain strange behaviors I was doing. Smart isn't the right word, however. Insightful is a better word choice. But, I'm very high functioning with my AS, so I've always been aware, but at times, I was just plain mind-blinded.

But I've also been called nice, kind, honest, focused, talented, bright, helpful, and more.

When I made a skin for my message board, my online friend Lee sounded impressed and said "Wow, you really worked your ass off on that skin, didn't you?"

My grade 7 French teacher said it was good that I dared to ask questions or something.

In grade 7 I had done poorly on a science assignment like the second time that year, and the science teacher said "Katherine, I see you're not up to your usual high standards." I took it as a compliment.

My math tutor said I had an aptitude for math.

My online friend Nicholas said that I was not like all the other girls he was friends with; that I had an overall positive attitude and thought about what I could do to fixx problems instead of just complaining about the problems.

My online friend Casey called me gracious and understanding.

My online friend Natalie said I was fun to talk to.

My online acquaintance Alexander said that I was definitely in his list of favorite people to talk to, but I don't know if he was joking or what.

I met Adverb, whom I now live with, like this: he PMed me and said he was "reeeeally" impressed with my commune threads.

Username88 (Rich, whom I also live with now), the day we started talking, said he thought the YMCA sounded like a place to live that was perfect for him, and to forgive him for rushing in, but that he thought I was perfect for him too, and then he had a little blushing emoticon.

Before that, after he started a thread about his problems and I told him he could PM me and didn't have to be shy about it, he PMed me saying that since I was so nice he felt okay trying to talk to me.

They used to scare me too. I would think they wewre joking or being sarcastic, or mixed me up with someone else, or wanted something in return.

Why should you guys be scared about positive comments from someone? I thrived from them. Positive comments about me assured me that I wasn't all odd or eccentric. They played certain roles in eliminating my depressing moods, especially during high school. Positive comments are nothing to fear.

I'm quite famous at my school for how good I am at Maths and Physics, and I am sometimes treated like a celebrity (lol) and I always get called a genius.

But for me, if I get, say less than 90% of some test, I won't bve satisfied, yet everyone else congratulates me. In that case I completely ignore the compliments though I know I shouldn't.

People also tell me that I'm helpful, honest and patient.

This writer that came into my class was very impressed with something I wrote in a timed exercise on a topic the teacher chose for us to write about. The teacher was also very impressed by it. :)

Yoshie, I feel the same way as you do; I was only paranoid sometimes.

A McGill University professor was very impressed with my mediocre, slapdash, non-artsy, done-the-night-before science fair project on floods with pieces of plain white paper instead of index cards and handwritten because I didn't have a computer. He told the principal he was very impressed with my project.

I was told by my shrink that I had an interesting life and should write a book about it. I said something to the effect of, "Are you nuts? My life is the msot boring life on the planet." And he said something to the effect of "Really? A guy dies, you write poetry on his door, you think about flipping the bird or sticking your tongue out at the camera but this wholesome instinct kicks in and you don't, and you get hauled down to the office to explain yourself. That sounds pretty interesting and exciting to me."

I got my haircut a few weeks back and the hairdresser told me that I looked like "Kat, The girl from Miami Ink"...
I don't really know what to think of that... Am I some Drew Barrymore/Tattooed-chick hybrid? Strange...

Today three people asked me if I was wearing colored contacts, even though I wasn't. They said that they looked blue-green with hazel-yellow in the middle. O_o
I think that's a good thing? Maybe?

I'll just take them as complements, I guess.

One woman at the hostel I stayed at once in Edmonton said I was beautiful and should be a dancer. (My mother then took it in the worst way and said "And get killed?" but then she agreed that I was beautiful.)

I was talking to someone this morning and he said in these exact words...

"Your just...so fantastic, just what you are meant to be".

I have to admit that I was a little shocked as I don't usually receive compliments like that. 8O
