Who doesn't? It's a very sh***y place once you really get to know it...they only pretend it's not. Yet no one seems inclined to change it...I mean, WHAT THE f**k! You've barely ever been noticed or cared for in your life, you've been neglected the greatest things available to a Human all for your "protection," or "convenience."
Still apathy reigns. They'd call it human civilization, I'd call it a machine. No one is human anymore, no one thinks like that. They just want to fit into the system, even if it's not truly what they believe.
And I can't blame them...we've all been institutionalized to accept and provide for this way of life. Words of reason fall on deaf ears. Any actions taken are met with the manipulated resistance of the whole World. We've imprisoned ourselves.
All of humanity, caged. Blind conviction leading to countless tragedies, forgotten and repeated with the flow of time. Surely we could do better? Surely something needs to change.
No one cares though. I understand. It's beyond an impossible task, when faced with one's own mortality. We are not permanent, and are constantly reminded of how dangerous others are. So we live our lives to the greatest "convenience," given our mortal status we simply seem to have to.
I have but one life, why waste it for others? So true...even those that believe in Heaven are afraid of death, the unknown. It's such a silly ideal though, who amongst us isn't afraid of being alone? Paradox. We feel no need to help others, our very selves being the center of the universe...yet we cannot stand to be alone.
Lost. Every day is exactly the same, the way we want it. We thrive on familiarity, violently dismissing any change that would take place. Our young race seems to have reached it's teenage years...unable to admit it's faults. So where are we going?
To the inevitable. We'll work our machine until we die, until we all die. Not far off, at all, the end of civilization is. 300 years, at most, I give it. We've damned ourselves, and don't care. Not until the end anyway, when the dream shatters and our apathy rips us apart. The great truth we'd been biding our time for will not appear, even amongst the billions of souls screaming out as to why they had wasted their life so.
The crafted path we're on will bear no fruit. And even if it did, it wouldn't be enough to go around...so why do we all keep following it? We only think of ourselves, and one man cannot make a difference...we're all damned.

I like to think that anyone can break themselves out of that machine and walk a different path if they wish to.
It is all in your choices and internal thinking.
I do not consider myself a part of that machine for the most part, though I can identify with your thinking as I have thought it so often myself, how all of our life is just one mechanical process with little point to it.
I suppose it is up to us to make there be a point to it.
For me, that will be writing something that outlives me.
I agree that ppl are blind to what they're doing. I am guilty of these thoughts myself but I do care about other ppl. I really don't like to see other ppl get hurt. I just lack empathy so many ppl think I don't have feelings b/c of this.
In my thoughts, it'll be a miracle if the world does last that long considering what's been done to it. I don't see any actions being taken except from small groups. I guess it all comes down to money.
Just thought I'd post an opinion. Yes humans can be the smartest idiots on the planet.
