hardworking value/whatever.

Whenever I'm complaining to Jack about my problems, and yes I do it often, and don't bring that up, he takes things literally and doesn't understand what I mean when I say something and then I don't have the patience/stamina/stimulation to take the trouble to figure out how to explain to him, and there's so much that I want to get out so bad, but I just forget it, I jsut shut up and stop, because it's too much trouble. But after a while I feel more miserable because of that. Isn't there anyone in this world that I don't have to use patience/stamina/sacrifice to understand or to understand me? I really don't have it, so don't tell me to go get some. I really wish I had it. I know I need it (so you don't need to tell me "You'd better have it" or "You need it in this world") and I know why I need it. I just don't have it. Telling me why I need it isn't going to give it to me. I'm not stupid. I don't need to have sense talked into me. I don't need to be told why I need to have it in order to function ro crap like that. I have this wierd understimulation problem and I'm so confused about how to get rid of it without any collateral damage, without anything being lost in the process.

that is majorly frustrating. try writing what you feel down then giving it to Jack to read. it might make more sense to him that way.

I found it a couple of times. It was wonderful. Now that I don't have it, I get very disheartened sometimes. I find I understand others pretty well, but not being understood is depressing.

That's kinda why I started that "Anyone have a successful relationship with an NT?" thread in the "love and dating" forum. I am still trying to deal with this- and I'm usually a pretty patient, somewhat self-sacrificing person in relationships...so it's not just you.

...kinda sucks, though.

I don't believe in self-sacrifice being a good thing. It isn't. Making it so that you don't have to sacrifice anything in order to help people is a good thing. :)
