(Just need to get this out of my system).

Last lecture of term before the exam and the lecturer didn't turn up. Myself and about ten others checked both rooms we've used this term, waited for half an hour, and checked his office and couldn't find him. Before when he's been late he's had a notice put up on the doors as well, and there was nothing like that. No emails either, not that he wouldn't be there or that the room would be changed this week.

What makes it worse is that we've had no structured lectures this term. He's put on a series of "guest lectures" with people from the (film) industry. Which is useful, once or twice a semester, but not for a class we need to do two essays and an exam for. I have /no/ notes from this term. And I normally write a lot. Both of the essays I had to BS because he didn't talk about them in class and the essay questions were /really/ badly written. For example:

Task D1: Unique Selling point

Look at the story outlines for five films (below). What would you say is the unique selling point (USP) for each of the films?

(Not including the films because it's five plot synopsis).

The essay's only 800-1000 words, but even so, there's only so much you can say about them. I only just passed 800.

Also, the exam is apparently an online one, but I don't know where/when it'll be, let alone what it'll be on. And I'm epileptic. If it's in a computer room I /have/ to use a flatscreen. The government brought me an apple laptop so I can do my work without having a seizure. But I can't find him to tell him this. I just sent him an email, but he never replied to my last one. I had to send my essay again as well, to make sure that he got it.

I'm /furious/ about this. I've already failed one class this term because the lecturer won't respond to my emails requesting a place/time to hand in my work. The lecturer's my personal tutor as well, so I'm going to have to try and get that changed before next term, because there's no way I'm going to be able to work with him. I'll have him again next year though, I still have two years left here and he's one of the main teachers for film studies.

Sounds like a lazy slug who doesn't want to work. If you get a crappy grade file a complaint to the school Admin. Hope you do well on the test.

I'm going to complain to the head of arts and humanities through my disabilities advisor anyway. And I know most of the people I was waiting with this morning are going to complain as well, so hopefully something will be done about him. ^_____^

And thank you. I should be okay because I know a lot about film before I started the course - it's the people who've never studied it before who are in serious trouble.
