Rat Terrier VS German Shepard

Ok, so tonight I came home from picking up my husband and my son opened our front door of our house. I was still sitting in my car. Apparently the neighbors were just coming out of their house with their two German Shepards. My crazy little Rat Terrier....who thinks hes a big dog....comes charging out of my house right into the mouth of one of my neighbors dogs. My vet tells us that we are really lucky because where the teeth went in was closer to his shoulder where there is more muscle. If he would have bit him a bit lower it would have went through his lung and probably killed him. So he has a big hole in his side and three puncture wounds. Thankfully I have a great vet who was there for me after hours and hopefuly my dog wont get an infection from his bite. I am seriously stressed and worried. I just got my cat from the vet this morning because she has an infected anal gland. So I have two animals with stitches, antibiotics and pain meds. Its a Lorazapam night for me.

agghh I am getting to hate vet visits, 2 or 3 times a month for my ferrets, I am sorry to hear pup getting bit, thats kind of a bad shock seeing a pet getting hurt, those Rat Terriers are tough little dogs.

He is a tough little dog but I hope he now knows better than to try and fight with a dog thats about ten times his size. Hes in a lot of pain this morning, walking around like a little old man.

I have a rat terrier, too. He talks big, but he runs from moths, so I think he'll stay out of a larger dog's mouth!

I hope your little guy's okay. Pets are such a lot of trouble sometimes. But they're worth it.
