so, let's see...
i just started work at a coffee shop and tonight i got to work from 1 to 8 with a rather slow human being. one of the coffee houses near this coffee shop closed because they were lacking in employees. guess what happens? all of the customers from that coffee house come to this coffee house so the nights that are usually slow became super busy. about four people left because bob(let's call my coworker bob) kept forgetting about them. many angry people repeatedly to me how to do job, i got into an arguments with a man on the ethics of making dark roast coffee, a woman gave me a 100 dollar bill which led to some heated $95 change exchanging(i kept giving her the wrong amount of change or at least she claims),accidently insulted an asian woman with a very strong accent and etc... etc... bob said he was going to taco bell for his break and would be back in 15 min. he came back in about an hour. also, the guy showed up 30 min. late for work.
the supervisors(they're my age) i was supposed to be calling for help didn't answer my calls because i forgot that for some strange reason, my number comes up as private number.

here's the cherry on the sundae: after work i was outside waiting for my ride and there was a bunch reallllly "cool" teenage boys outside laughing and smoking. one of the boys scrutinizes my face and says "You look familiar...You're my neighbor aren't you? Oh, you work here? You don't? Oh, you do, cool." he then turned around and ignored me.

i used to go over to this kid's house everyday and he was never totally nice to me or my little sister. my little sister would often come home crying home from his house because he had been cruel to her. he sometimes told me to leave for no reason. we were great friends, though, and he was really nice when he wasn't being a jerk. he was into directing and movies so, we would make these little fake movies with him. they were lots of fun to make...when he wasn't being a jerk....now... i just i look familiar? i'm just that neighbor on his street, now? he made me feel like an ant. a miniscule piece of nothing.
everybody who i used to hang out with on my street has changed...most not for the better. plus, i feel like i'm one of the last honest and kind people of my age.

sigh, i guess i should just look on the bright side of life...*hums always look on the bright side of life*

Wow that is a tough night. That's why I always prefer to work in things that don't involve customer service.

"I feel like i'm one of the last honest and kind people of my age."

Believe me I know that feeling well.

Well if that's the worst night of your life, things can only get better right?

yeah...people tell me i'm too impatient and am too critical of myself. i just want some friends who don't find being cruel to each other funny and have my interests. everybody my age seems to be hung up on tween readings, celebrities, texting constantly, going out, and vh1(it's a tv channel that plays things like playboy playmates: the reality show, top 50 hottest guys, and fashion fabulous!).

all that I really know what to say is hope it turns out better tommorrow for you. not sure of your age, but good luck finding people who dont think being cruel is funny sometimes...especially if your HS or College age. Just the way it is, and it sucks. As for the one guy who sometimes acted like a jerk, do not let him affect you. You know what kind of person you are. Other people will see it to, even NT's though it takes them longer to recognize a good thing when they see one lol. In short, dont worry about stuff so much. It seems easier said than done, but its true. Just sit out on the ork cloud aiming comets at people and enjoy the show called life. everything will be fine at least thats my take on it after 30 years on this rock, so I am not totally sure, but so far that's how it seems to work....eventually everything works out, its just a matter of not freaking out over things which can be realllllllllllly hard sometimes. Hope things get better soon.

Jayson

P.s.- Spudnik (a.k.a.- the bob too....I think your a really cool person. like reading your posts. and really like your attitude.

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem...

Gotta be somebody out there who has some taste, tinky. There's gotta be.

So how did you insult the asian lady? You asked her if she could stir coffee with two chopsticks at the same time?

I understand what you mean about the job, Hospo is a killer when there aren't enough staff. I'm sorry you had to put up with the boys, too. Hopefully in a few years none of this will matter as much :)
