You know what floors me? No where in Vegas is there any sort of 'free' clinic, unless you are homeless or under 19. Well, I had insurance at 19, thank you very much, I mean come on! Instead of being able to go to a doctor and be checked out, I have to go to a hospital and overload their already stretched resources. It's BULL!! ! I don't qualify for medicaid because I work, I don't qualify for disability because I don't have a formal DX, and of course there are no AS specialtists in Las Vegas.

This city SUCKS.

*For those wondering, I'm pretty sure I fractured my hip... ><

It's not just Vegas, the whole US healthcare system pretty much sucks. And it's pretty hard to get disability for AS here anyway.
I don't have any insurance either, I'm pretty much screwed if something happens.

But considering what you suspect, it seems you have no choice but to go sit around an emergency room for hours until somebody can check you.

With all that's happening lately -- global economic collapse, wars, corruption, mass revolts in Europe, genocide everywhere, shiny new Haliburton concentration camps popping up all over the US, a volcano heating up in Alaska, ice storms in Tennessee, plagues, famines...

When it all falls apart, we could be setting our own broken bones soon. So I got to wondering what I would do with a broken hip.

Google was not encouraging. I guess you're stuck with the emergency room.

Still, it's worth reading.

So anyway, who is with you right now? Family or friends who can help?

is it true there's going to be an NHS in America?
that would be good if it does happen.

It would be nice. Right now, we'd have to pay about $300-$400 a month for it, and we're healthy with no kids. Too expensive.

I once had individual insurance that I paid $120 a month for. It had a high deductible and didn't cover preventive care, but it was good for emergencies.

Yea... I finally went with the whole ER idea... some lady kept harping me to pay them... I was telling her to f off...

And to boot, I end up with a torn ligament, stress fractures, and some weird arsed shot in the buttock that the nurse swore was for pain, but after the third different name they gave me for said drug, I think they had no clue.

So now both buttocks hurt, my leg hurts cause I'm having to put most of my weight on my right leg cause the left is now hurt, and my coworker is a little peeved at me cause I called him in on his day off.

A most appropriate, yet devastatingly ironic reply.

I'm glad my irony wasn't lost on you.
