A very stressful situation

A few minutes ago, I was working out at the fitness center at my apartment complex, which is owned by the university I attend. While I was working out, two University Police officers, who I assume were doing a random patrol, looked like they were trying to get into the fitness center.

I was the only person in there, and I know I haven't done anything illegal. I am worried as to what they could possibly want with me.

Nothing at all? They may not even know, you are in and as you say yourself only did a routine check.

Ummm marrr! your in trouble

and don't forget to tell us when you are released from prison
(assuming they don't shoot you on the spot for making dangerous hand movements or something)

It appears that they may have just been testing the locks on the doors.

When my husband was a security guard, he was required to walk the grounds once an hour and check to see that every door was still locked.

If they didn't address you immediately, then there is no issue. They would not make an effort to get to you then give up on a locked door.

I was just terrified, because I am a liberal living in a state where some towns still have book burnings.

Oh, you are so lucky. They were probably conservative bounty hunters looking to make their quota for the day. The state of Texas has an outstanding price of $50,000 on the head of any liberal.

Of course, they'll probably increase it, in response to Massachusetts upping the bounty on Republicans.
