I asked for suggestions about a name for my new pet bearded dragon. This other person came and attacked and telling me I am a horrible person and that I am going to kill my new pet because she thinks I did not do the amount of research she finds sutible.

This was my post:

I have a new baby bearded dragon. I will post pics when I find my new camera batteries and when he settles in some more. I'm worried the flash will scare him. The only issue I am having with him/her right now is trying to figure out a name. Names I've considered are Sunburst, Lemonade, Pred (after the lizard thing in Titan A.E.), Toto, Saske, Soka, and Peaches (after the fence lizard a friend and I found) and Milo. Please help me. I don't truely know if he is a boy or a girl yet so perferably something gender nutural or something that would be okay for a boy or a girl. Anything that is cute but not super super super long.

And this is her's.

So you don't know what you're doing, if your store is good, or anything and you ignored everyone's advice to find out more info first? That is horribly irresponsible of you. I hope your beardie isn't sick already or that you don't kill him or make him sick because of your ignorance.

People weren't just saying what they were saying for the sake of running their mouths (fingers). We have or have had exotics of various species and we know how difficult it is to properly care for them. My brother's iguana got rickets and suffered horribly, becoming permanently crippled and ultimately being put to sleep, because he didn't have the info on proper care.

You've screwed up big time, KM, and if you don't get your butt in gear and do your research, it's going to be the poor lizard who suffers because of it.

I was so happy about my new pet until she attacked me. Happiness is very hard for me to expirence and when I finnaly expirence it, someone always has to come and kill it.

If it's any comfort, I think that the girl was passionate about how important it is to prepare to have a pet.

Doesn't sound like any personal bad feeling about you. I.e. like she doesn't like you or something.

She has a strong position on this kind of thing.

Hope that helps! Don't take it too hard.

ordinarily, what happens in the forum stays in the forum. I know you mean well, but if it's a problem, you might have IM'd the person, and asked for clarification. If it's too much, you could ask a mod to look into it.

It's not the end of the world, and everybody can make a mistake (I'm an expert on mistakes...;)
don't sweat it.

Good grief, Punkster!

Why did you have to ask at that site?

You could have stayed here, and let me abuse you!

Hmph! I feel so snubbed ...

May I suggest "Kimodo" as the dragon's name? :D

Wow, I think that she simply has issues. The only thing that you said that might have suggested ignorance would be that you did not know the gender. My suggestion is to ignore the crazy chick. If you can't do that, then spend some time looking up bearded dragons so that you can prove her wrong at every turn.

PS. I suck at names, so I'll be no help there, sorry.

What she said was a bit harsh and totally not called for.
Maybe she is taking her brothers lack of knowledge out on you.

She didn't even ask if the people at the store helped, she just assumed they did.

As for names I like giving animals human names, like Angus or something.

Spaghetti is a good name
Just ignore that person they don't know you so don't let it ruin you experience with your new pet.

Thank you for all the support. I am enjoying my pet. The vet we have known for years also takes care of exotics and just lives down the road from us.

While the attacker may be right, she was horribly tactless and if I was PunkyKat I'd be very very pissed too. I know how you feel, PK. People attacked me in my thread about how I'm a bad mother to my new son, telling me I screwed up by having him. I know that in a way I deserve it and that makes me feel confused and the confusion makes it worse in a way.
