...of suicide? Psychosis? Mental devastation? I don't know. Nothing seems to cheer me up. I woke up today and the first thing I did - was crying... How long will I stand it? I don't know what to do. I'm too helpless. I don't know where to look for help... Psychiatrist? I can't aford. I am scared. I can't understand what is happening to me... I think I've never been in the state like that... It's horrible...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not doing to well myself.
Sometimes positive thinking is the only way to get through this.
Watching comedies cheer me up too.

Is there a reason why you are so upset?

Empty mood started two weeks ago, but I tried to ignore it, and convince myself that it will soon get better, as it always did... But it's getting worse with each day...

I know what you're going through, its tough. In another thread you said you had no one to offer you support, this is important. Its not gonna make your emptiness go away, however it will help you to see out the tough times until the better times come along. As in the other thread, you can PM me if you like, or anyone else especially those you are good friends with here on WP.

Can you join a club or society? Maybe take up karate or something, or join a gym. These small things dont take away depression, but they do act as distraction and will help you see the out the tough times. Good luck...

Physical exercise apparently helps mood, as does sunlight. Or so I heard somewhere. Of course in England, you might be s**t out of luck in terms of sunlight ;)

The good thing about that kind of depression is you get an opportunity to learn about the deep philosophical truths of the universe.

That would be the last thing on peoples mind when they're depressed..

You could try doing something that will just keep your mind alive, write up a time table or list of things to do in the day. Eg physical activity, reading a book, etc. Write down times to start and time limits, even if it seems really small and insignificant, it helps me because it makes me feel like im acomplishing something.

It sounds like cyclothymia. Sometimes it gets worse with each time it's ignored until you end up in the mental hospital. If nothing helps, try getting on meds. Even if you have to go to the ER and ask to see a shrink for your meds, then tell them you're suicidal and REALLY NEED meds but can't afford them. They might give you numbers to call to get them for free and see a shrink for free. Otherwise they'll put you in the lockup for a while and you'll get meds there and when they let you out they'll give you a place to call or go to to get your meds for free. I'm not even a US citizen (actually, I'm an illegal alien with no fake ID or anything) and here in the US I get my meds for free. First I had to be admitted to a mental ward though. Then they referred me to a clinic where I see a psychiatrist and get my meds for free, even now after 8 months, and I'll continue to get this service. They are obligated to help anyone no matter what their financial situation. I don't know what country you're in, though, but good luck. :)

I'm in the UK (as it says in my description - East Anglia is one of the regions). They probably have something like that here as well, but I don't know how to look.. I don't know where to go...

Go to the ER and tell them you're suicidal.

There is never anything good about depression, it ruins lives, and sometimes ends them prematurly.

My suggestions: find a support group specificly tailored to your need, would probably cost a lot less than a psychiatrist, only problem is finding such a group. Other than that, life is more important than the cost of life, so find someone who cares enough to help you cover the costs of the help you need, there is probably a social group in your area that will cover some of the costs, especially since, like most of us here, you are disabled.... (f*** I hate that word)... Have you talked to your family about it yet? That would generally be a good first step, as in most families, they can offer support to help get you onto the path of recovery, which just that alone is a good start.

ER = emergency room, as in the place people go to in a hospital when they need immediate treatment, assuming they have a different word for that in the UK.
