Am I really that unlikeable?

Here on this forum, I am hardly acknowledged by anyone. I cannot seem to make friends anywhere. Those do claim to be my "friends" never ask me to do anything with them, I cant even get people I have on Yahoo messenger to even talk to me. Am I THAT horrible of a person that no one wants anything to do with me? I feel like I am going insane here.

and these "friends" who never ask u to do stuff with them, maybe u should take responsibility for ur own social life n ask them 2 hang out with u urself. wats the worst that can happen? its wat ive got 2 do more so the rest of my high school yrs arent as bad as 13-15(which i neer wantt o remember)

With less than 2 posts per day, it's hard to get noticed. Step it up a notch.

That would depend on the quality and direction (about others vs. about you) of your posts. My 1.7-something posts per day have not gone unnoticed, and are usually favourably received. Mostly, I try to address specific questions others have that I can relate to and hopefully offer a different and useful perspective. I have made real-life and cyber-acquaintances, even in my first three months.

If you have something constructive and relevant to add to others' questions, it will not go unnoticed for very long.

I like my suggestion better. It's less judgemental.

My advice is to pick up on other people's posts and add some comments. Preferably say "something" though rather than a generic "me too" or "I agree" type statements. Best also to pick on threads that haven't already had a hundred replies or yours may be lost. A timid voice is often lost, especially on wp where there are hundreds of names and thousands of posts.

I've found my niche as the resident joker and teaser of Tim Tex. It adds a little fun to life.

Ask people questions too, not daft things you don't care about, but things that do interest you. Make an effort to get into real conversations.

Get involved in epic debates in PPR, then people learn your name!

I'm not really sure if people remember me that much, but I hope so.

*ouch* The use of the word "ret*d" really isn't cool. If there was a word I would abolish from the english language (unless it was directly related to medical terminology) it would be that word. It's really, really, offensive to a large portion of society.

As for the other stuff, sometimes it just takes people longer to find the place that they fit in. Just because you're not as vocal as others doesn't mean you're less likable.

Well for instance, someone was talking about Monkey Island and was wishing she could some how play it on her new computer, I told he about a product called ScummVM, and even answered some one elses question if there were a way to play other games like monkey island( the software plays all those old games) I even provided a list of games like monkey island. NO one even bothered to read the post or much less say anything.

i do not think it is because they do not like you.
i have learned from this forum that my opinions are of no real value in a world of people who's social status is so much higher than me.

this forum seems to be clustered into cliques and they just have no time to read my stuff.

compared to the posts of others, my posts are arduously long and contain nothing of interest. i realize this the next day when i look to see who responded, and i see that there are much more intelligent and thought provoking posts than what i posted, and mine is lost many pages back.

i tried everything i could. i posted artwork in the art thread and got one reply that was that my animation looked like an old TV logo. only one person looked at it because my youtube view counter only went up by 1. this means that people are not even interested enough to watch any of it. other people can post stick figures they drew, and they get many responses of appreciation.
i know there is a preferential bias on this forum, and i realized that if i have not made it into the realm of being noticed after 500 posts, it is useless to keep trying.

an analogy i have about this forum is it is like trying to strike up a conversation at the academy awards with the stars when i am only a cleaner in the building.


but that is my experience and i am not saying that you are of low social importance.
maybe just post more or something. obviously i have no advice on how to be recognized.
