I need to rant.

This is probably entirely my own fault for assuming that others have respect for my privacy, just because I have respect for their privacy. Most people do these things and if I didn't want it happening, I could have at least used a bunch of different screen names.

I borrowed my father's laptop tonight since mine has crashed. I noticed that my username had been entered into Google search at some stage. A few sites with my various profiles come-up. My Dad's been snooping.

It's not that there's anything incriminating anywhere. It's just that I have my own little world online and it feels as if someone has been spying on me. I can't escape from people by any means at all.

I want to bring it up with him, but I don't know how. He'd probably deny it and act insulted anyway.

I did the same in return anyhow. At least his results where somewhat shameful. If he's reading this... Yes, this is me being passive aggressive.

I'm not sure he can read your posts in the haven without making an account here himself.

Do you mind sharing about the shameful results or do you want to do that in a more public forum?

Don't ever tell your parents your usernames.

Can't give any sorid details I'm afraid. But it's nothing terribly abnormal for a man of any age. *cough*

Tell me about it. People around me, never pay back the respect I show them. Only my brother knows my username, he knows my password aswell. Thats how much I trust him. There is a freedom in that trust for him. The opposite can be said when you lose trust for others (not to any fault of your own). It's frustrating, and you feel caged by their selfishness.

There are anonymizer websites, which use a proxy server to mask the websites you visit. In other words, you connect to it, then browser other sites (like WP) in a window on that anonymizer site, as opposed to in your browser. In the end, your browsing history will show only that site, rather than everything you visited while on it. I don't know the addresses, but you can search for them.

If you start to type something in on a search engine, previous searches come up automatically, you don't have to snoop to find it.

My parents did that to me about 2 years ago.

Borrowing a laptop is ok, but borrowing the account is a violation of privacy.

Not if you've been given permission and the password.
