I didn't even realize what was going on, I was tidying up my room but apparently while I was doing that, my step-dad was packing his things. He told me that he was leaving to get his hair cut. When mom got back from work however, she saw that all of his clothes, personal belongings, etc were gone. After a few calls, she discovered that he had left her to move in with his ex-wife.

HOW f*****g DARE HIM!! !! ! HOW DARE HIM LEAVE WITHOUT EVEN SAYING A WORD!! !

I'm so angry right now. But I'm going to stay strong for my mom. She seems to be handling it well right now, she's more angry that sad right now but there may be a time when she needs me and the family to be there for her. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. How did you deal with it?

Thanks Royger.

I know one thing, tomorrow I'm going to buy some rock salt for my real dad's shotgun and if he and/or either of his sons come back here, I'm blasting their f*****g knee caps off!!

Oh wow 8O

I can imagine how upsetting and stressful that must be. You're right, your mom is going to need you.

Was he a pretty good husband or is it better off to be rid of him?

I'm glad he is gone myself. His sons were nothing but trouble. We had to keep our values locked up ever since we caught them trying to steal some of our medicine. They were good to each other. Mom was the happiest I had ever seen her in my life. But he goes and does this. Now I'm not sure if she will ever be that happy again. He played us all for fools. I'LL NEVER FORGIVE THAT BASTARD!! !! !!

That is so harsh!! !

But if he was such a loser - it has to be all for a good reason. I feel so awful for your mom. I can't imagine - but she must also know it's for the best.

Speaking from the mom perspective - she will get over him and will find love again. She loved once - she will again. This sounds incredibly painful - but it might be more complicated than just a broken heart. She may also feel like a world-class sucker - which could make her pretty angry. At him and at herself.

But once the smoke has cleared SHE WILL BE A BETTER PERSON.

Hey, and put away the shotgun! They aren't worth it - even if you just want to scare them. Who knows what they might be packing. Get a chow-chow. Or two.

If you want to be there for your Mum, no shotguns please  Your Mum's sadness will turn to anger and as the previous poster pointed out, she will love again. But she needs time and space to process all of the feelings with being left and why he did it the way he did. I can speak from experience from that.

Hugs to you, SF. You've had a lot to deal with lately. I'm wishing you happier days.

Dayum, sorry to hear that SF. :(

I don't understand why people do what they do. If it's any consolation, judging from his actions, it's probably best he leaves.

I hope you and your mom stay strong.

Both of my stepparents ended up leaving both of my real parents. This has probably imprinted very badly on my ability/interest in connecting with people as opposed to being defensive against them or making them pass an unreasonably high standard before taking them seriously.

Snatch his a-- in a bear trap. Leave that MF swinging from a tree so high, no one finds him for days. Glock, glock, you know what I'm sayin'? ---From South Park

He sounds like a right bastard. I hope your mum will get over him and feel better soon.

I wish my mum's boyfriend would GTFO, he's a stupid dickwad and once he threw cold water over me when I was in bed cos I was ill and wouldn't go to school. It's bad enough and he doesn't even live here!

That's awful. :( That's just ******* wrong, I'm really sorry to hear that. :( I hope things go better for you and your mum, I can't even imagine how shocking and upsetting that must have been when both of you found out. :(

Really good to hear that you're gonna be there for your mum!

Your stepdad... meh... may be a bastard, may just have been confused, ... you may never know what happened...

try to be there for her so that, in case her ever tries to come crawling back, she has the strength and support to tell him to f**** off!

Still haven't heard from him. I don't know what is going through his mind but I do know mom isn't going to take him back this time. He tried this once before, three years ago. Only then he didn't move in with his ex-wife. He got tired of not living by himself and wanted his own place so he left while everyone was gone, leaving only a note. But he told mom they could still be married and she could come see him whenever she wanted. Like she would have went for that. But they worked it out and he came home.

This time however, I have no idea what he is thinking. He didn't even leave a note this time. :?
