So, yeah, my 60+ resumes I have sent out so far, plus all the following up I have done, as well as the fact that I devote at LEAST 3 hours to the job search a day, means absolutely nothing to my parents. It's not like in their day; it's hard to find a job. And for an aspie, it's especially hard. But no!

Dear Mom and Dad,
All I hear is "Someone your age would be looking for a job by now." I HAVE BEEN F-ING LOOKING! Maybe not to YOUR specifications, but I have been looking. So you know something? If you keep telling me I do nothing, Mom and Dad, then maybe I will just stop job searching all together and do what I want to do, rather than search for this nonexistent job. I am NOT going to work retail for my career. I'm sorry, but I have a COLLEGE degree, and am NOT someone who would even LIKE doing retail. I find that, now as I have a COLLEGE degree, I should have a job doing something that someone with a COLLEGE degree would do--like getting an actual salary somewhere. And I'm SORRY, but I do NOT do sales. That is a NIGHTMARE for a socially inept person. Even you say I wouldn't like it.

So keep it up, and maybe, just maybe, I'll stop job searching...period. You'd apparently not care, since my efforts evidently have not been up to your standards. -.-

From,
Muta

I heard lot of people have troubles finding a job after they get their degree. It took my uncle a year to get one.

Well, it has now cascaded into a full meltdown. I found out that my mom wants me to send out 200+ Resumes a day. What a jerk. I don't even think that's humanly possible, and doesn't like that my dad helps me with folding the resumes and papers. I need help because I'm not that coordinated.

On top of that, even though he says he was joking, my brother laughed at me when I said I wanted to get a career.

I hate life :'(

This sounded really exhausting, good luck,
hope you find something you like to do
soon. And 200 resumes do sound like an
incredibly high number 8O And i think its
nice that your dad helps you, dont see why
that should be a problem.

Folding resumes? I applied for most of the jobs I've had online via email, and included the resume as an attachment. You can send a lot more of them a lot quicker that way.

200 resumes is absurd. Was she exaggerating?

Everyone's having a hard time finding a job these days. Good luck friend.
