Oh....and he does not want people touching him. Family he lets hug and kiss him. Only if he knows it's coming and not done by suprise. Someone brushing up against him by accident can make his entire day shot to hell.

But....he takes Taekwondo and spars. This contact doesn't bother him because he's expecting it. But someone just touching him to touch him sends him over the edge.

I'm not on him about his weight. He's always been little and his dad is little. The doc recommended putting him on the drink because he wasn't eating enough. The school did say they would give him an evaulation but everything is a very slow process. I've been told he would have speech therapy. Here it is 3 years later and it still hasn't happened.

You may not be on him about his weight, but by praising weight gain you're giving him the message that more weight = better, the way he is= not good.
If what you're telling me about the school is true then they're breaking a few laws. They cannot promise an evaluation, then not give one. There is a time period in which they HAVE to do it. I think it's 60 days. Does he have an IEP? If he does, and it says he gets speech therapy, then he HAS to get it. It's a violation law not to comply with an IEP. It's a legal document.
Please educate yourself. That's the only way to help your son. You have to advocate for him. I'm sorry that there's no easy answers. Raising kids is tough.

Anytime he's gained weight or gotten taller we've always done the high five. As a way of showing that he's growing up. He only gets weighed at doc appointments.

He went to Vandy when he was younger because he had speech delay. He had 5 sets of tubes in his ears when he was little. Hearing was fine. Schools kept promising speech therapy. So....this year I made a point to go in on the first day of school to make sure that he had it scheduled. he did.

He told me he's only been one time. He speaks, but he has problems with "th" "L sounding like W" and many more. I've become more aggrivated with the school in general. We had a huge blow out about them making him buy a school lunch because they didn't want him eating peanut butter everyday.

The child is very picky with foods. He will not eat hamburger, hot dogs, mac & cheese....(any cheese for that matter), all veggies except for broc are off limits.

After a call to the doc he said he could eat PB everyday if he wants to. as long as he's eating. Would the school rather him be hungry and not paying attention or eating PB everyday?

It's a struggle. the doc said not to worry about his weight...which I know that it sounds like I do. I really don't. he'd rather him be skinny than fat.

We really don't make a big deal about his weigh ins. They are the same time as his height being checked. So it's "He's getting to be a big boy" thing.

Picky with foods ... there's a topic I can relate to . I have been and will always be quite picky about what I eat . As a child I would refuse to eat if the meal required me to eat peas . Had problems with other veggies too . When I started playing sports in school those finicky ways had to go as I needed about 5000 calories a day . Started eating all foods but became quite picky as to how they were prepared . Started doing most of the family cooking in High School and to this day I will always comment on other peoples cooking methods and I will not eat food prepared incorrectly , undercooked , or overcooked . Drives my wife nuts , but then again I do most of the cooking (so what's to complain about , Wifey?).

If ya can't take a little constructive criticism please do not invite me over for lunch ...

Oh ya , forgot to mention that I am now 6'1" 190 lbs . so don't worry if your son or daughter is skinny . Hormones have a way of balancing such things out .
