I love to cook, I'd say that it is my 2nd love among my many hobbies, and definitely the most practical of them. I'm proud to say that I've been cooking since long before it got trendy for guys to know how, like many things I somehow was inadvertently on trend with that one. For me the biggest hurdle has been the hassle of cooking for one, it does just seem like so much time and effort when you can just get some fast food for a few bucks, but it really is so much better food, and much more economical if you shop right. I learned to make pizza from scratch last year, and subsequently bought a 50lb bag of bread flour at Costco, along with massive quantities of yeast, olive oil and diced canned tomatoes, all for about $35. The per meal cost works out to pennies, not that pizza is all I ever cook or anything, but the ingredients have a long shelf life and it's convenient, I just have to keep the 2 hour rise time in mind. On top of all the other benefits, being able to cook well is one of those things that never fails to impress women, always a handy benefit for an Aspie.
