No, I don't really need anything to fight all those crowds. Last year, I got stuck getting up at 4 a.m. to carry a TV and fridge for someone that went for the early bird specials. For some reason, I am always the first person people come to when they want something carried. Those events are madhouses.

I'll go shopping any day of the year, other than Black Friday. Why do they call it Black Friday for?

It's the day of the year that store's are supposed to go "in the black" (making a profit) for the year.

I thought it was called black because people get crazy that day(well crazier) & black represents something bad/evil like a black cat or the black plague  Cops don't like Black Friday.

I usually buy things I want/need when I want/need em instead of buying something simply because it's supposedly on sale. I worked at WalMart doing floor-cleaning for 25months & I was there 3 ThanxGiving nights. Crowd started forming in lines to buy stuff at about midnight & when I left at 7; it was kaouse(I'm not sure how to spell that word & spell check cant figure it out). I would NOT recommend going shopping that Friday. The money you save by buying something on sale won't be enough to cover the the cost of therapy or anti-anxiety meds that may be needed to deal with the crowds. I do need another computer chair & I haven't been able to go to the office place the last few weeks. There's a chance my parents may offer to take me there Friday but I would only go that day if that's about the only store we're going to

What is Black Friday? An American day of shopping after Thanksgiving? That's how I'm understanding it.

I think the shoppers are monsters.

I checked the sale paper & the office place is having some deals on chairs; some are 50% off. My mom's also talking about getting a laptop(she doesn't know a lot about that & she doesn't do heavy duty stuff & she's not really sure which one she would want yet) so I guess I may be going shopping tomorrow but I'm not sure yet. If a place here would sell bullet-proof vest; I'd go there 1st to be safe

Going out on the morning of Black Friday is insanity. Pure insanity.

My mother dragged me out once back in 1998 at like 5 am, wait in line for over an hour for the 7 am store opening. I wouldn't want to ever deal with that again.

Being out before Noon in any decent sized city is a mistake and a half, cause all the malls, shopping centers, big boxes - mad houses.

I was talked into joining a friend for some Black Friday shopping once. It ranks as one of the worst experiences of my life to date. That's just asking for overload. Just thinking about it makes me want to crawl inside of a turtle shell.
