Does anybody else love Buffy The Vampire Slayer?
I was pretty late to join the Buffy Fan Club, myself... though that's a LONG time ago now! I started watching in 2003, when all Star Trek show reruns and other action/sci-fi/fantasy shows I was enjoying at the time, had been taken off the air. So I was kind of 'left' with Buffy, which I had never gotten into, and I thought, "Oh what the heck, let's give it a go". I jumped into the last half of season 7, and I really had to get used to the shows pace and quirkiness, and perhaps especially the mixing of genres (drama, action, comedy, horror, romance), but 4 eipisodes in, I was completely into it! And then I found the show was ending, and that made me a saaaaad panda bear.
The next year, however, I discovered that a Dutch TV station was airing Buffy's first season at night, so I was able to watch it from the episode "The Pack" and I was so excited to see all the characters in high school. I found I could relate better to the storylines because I was 17 at that time, while when Buffy originally aired, I was 10 years old, and thought it was too scary. So I watched that 3 nights a week, up until they pulled the plug out of it again at the end of season 4. Eventually I managed to catch up on season 6, but for some reason they didn't show the musical episode.
So as of now, I still haven't seen season 5 in its entirety, 'Once More With Feeling', and the first half of the seventh season. But as my favourite seasons are 1-3 anyway, I'm not all that eager to go check out the rest. However, Buffy is definitely one of my all-time favourite TV shows. Certainly better than my usual TV-viewing fare, LOL.

One of my all-time favorite series. I love pretty much everything Joss Whedan has done including Angel, Firefly and to a lesser extent, Dollhouse. He even directed one of the Glee shows that I thought was done really well. He did Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog which my daughter loves. Like all series, it had its ups and downs but overall just a great series. It has great lines in it too. Some examples:
Anya: "You know, you can laugh, but I have witnessed a millennium of treachery and oppression from the males of the species and I have nothing but contempt for the whole libidinous lot of them."
Xander: "Then why are you talking to me?"
Anya (averts her eyes): "I don't have a date for the prom."
Xander: "Well gosh. I wonder why not. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with your sales pitch?"
Anya: "Men are evil. Will you go with me?"
Buffy: "Do they know about 'fun' in England?"
Giles: "Yes, but it's considered very poor taste to have any."
Spike: "I told you. I want to stop Angel." (snickers) "I want to save the world."
Buffy: "Okay. You do remember that you're a vampire, right?"
Spike: "We like to talk big, vampires do. 'I'm gonna destroy the world' - just tough-guy talk, strutting around with your friends over a pint of blood. Truth is, I like this world. You got dog racing, Manchester United, and you got people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. It's all right here. But then someone comes along with a vision. A real passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Good-bye, Picadilly, farewell Leicester bloody Square. You know what I'm saying?"
Xander (tauntingly): "Who's the little fear demon? Come on. Who's the little fear demon?"
Giles: "Don't taunt the fear demon."
Xander: "Why? Can he hurt me?"
Giles: "No, it's just... tacky."
-Anya (on Thanksgiving): "To commemorate a past event you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice. With pie."
Snyder: As far as I'm concerned, this is a marriage made in heaven. Willow Rosenberg, despite her unsavory associations, represents the pinnacle of academic achievement at Sunnydale High. Percy West represents a devastating fast break, and 50% from behind the three-point line.
Willow: I'm not sure I understand the marriage part.
Snyder: You've got the brains, he's got the fast break. It's a perfect match.
Willow: Match? You want us to breed?
Snyder: I want you to tutor him.
Willow: Maybe I would have liked to go.
Oz: Didn't figure you for missing school.
Willow: You think I'm boring.
Oz: I'd call that a radical interpretation of the text.
Willow: "Old Reliable"? Yeah, great. There's a sexy nickname.
Buffy: Well, I didn't mean it as...
Willow: No, it's fine. I'm "Old Reliable."
Xander: She just means, you know, the geyser. You're like a geyser of fun that goes off at regular intervals.
Willow: That's Old Faithful.
Xander: Isn't that the dog that, that the guy had to shoot...
Willow: That's Old Yeller!
Buffy, correcting Giles: Native American.
Giles: Sorry?
Buffy: We don't say "Indian."
Giles: Oh, right. Yes, yes. Um, always behind on the terms. Still trying not to refer to you lot as "bloody colonials."
Vampire: Does this sweater make me look fat?
Sunday: No, the fact that you're fat makes you look fat. That sweater just makes you look purple.
Anya: You haven't called. Not once.
Xander: You said you were over me.
Anya: And you just accepted that? I only said that because I thought that's what you wanted to hear.
Xander: That's the funny thing about me, I tend to hear the actual words people say and accept them at face value.
Anya: That's stupid.
Xander: I accept that.
Spike: "If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would've been like Woodstock."
Spike: "I fed off a flower person, and I spent the next six hours watching my hand move."
Giles: "Here comes Buffy. Now remember, discretion is the better part of valor."
Xander: "You could have just said 'Shh.' God, are all you Brits such drama queens?"
That's the episode I saw! It's the one I recorded! I knew it sounded fimiliar! I pictured it in my head! I'm new to Buffy and 8-14 years late, so I have a lot to learn!

That's from the 3rd season: Dopplegangland. One of my favorite episodes and really features Willow. That ep has tons of great quotes.

First time I saw it, I was quite impressed with Willow's performance as vampire Willow and then good Willow impersonating vampire Willow. That was a very funny scene which, in my opinion, highlighted both Alyson Hannigan's comedic timing, and her actual acting range. Even if she didn't quite follow up on it or expand on it in later roles outside of 'Buffy'.

In a few words, wrote Buffy fan-fiction (Drusilla/Xander), sent it to Juliet Landau (Drusilla) in Hollywood, my story blew her away, went across America on a Greyhound bus to meet her on Sunset Boulevard, wrote the story of the journey (both personal and physical) to inspire people with autism (I have Aspergers), said story - Dear Miss Landau - being published shortly by Chaplin Books...
If you'd like to know more, please look at my posts - also entitled Dear Miss Landau - in General Autism Discussion!
