Some guy on the bus stop gave me his 1-day travelcard. It was only about 5pm, so saved a few quit going around town during peak hours.
Strangely, it feels just as good to give one away too. Maybe we've met!

as much as it made my day, I imagine that seeing the shock and awe on my face must have felt even better for the giver. a travelcard is a real treasure!

I had steak for breakfast

I'm glad you got your priorities right young man. I'd be quite hurt to be put below the steak, but can't fight with a self-repairing guitar! 8)

A random good thing that happened at my sister's house:

Coming into the kitchen I heard a high-pitched "peep" and spotted a Robin flapping about at the top of the windows, trying to fly through them. He flew off and banged against the opposite kitchen door, then flew back and really banged against the window.
He'd got a good speed up by flying the width of the kitchen and this time, he fluttered down cross-eyed onto the window-sill where I picked him up easily.

The dogs (two very bouncy Boxers) were in the kitchen but uninterested in all this - until I was holding him, and then they became curious.
So I nipped outside and sat by a small sloping planted border and gave him a quick inspection. Wings Ok, no blood, nothing crumpled, nice and bright-eyed.

I opened up my hand expecting him to fly away but instead he just hopped up onto a handy finger and sat there, about a foot away from my face.
So I straightened up his chest feathers and stroked the back of his head, then scratched his throat - still no interest in flying off, although he was certainly alert but completely unconcerned. Just once, when I moved a bit too quickly, he twitched his wings - but otherwise sat very contentedly being scratched.

We sat there like this, kind of quietly observing each other, for 10 minutes when in no particular hurry, he just flew off into a bush a few feet away.
I never realised how beautiful a Robin's eyes were - they seemed like a Deer's eyes: very large and very dark.

Spent the rest of the day floating, as a result of this...

^ AWESOME!! I've had something like this happen but not to that extent. Very cool, and so are you!

I knew the bird was trying to communicate with me. Next time I will know better how to respond.

I was worried you might get super mad at me for putting the guitar first, but I'm glad you understand! :) :P
