I'm a mixture of uptight and rebellious.

Same here. I follow my faith pretty tightly but I also have a rebellious side that gets out from time to time. On rare occasions, I will push certain boundaries just to see what will happen, but seeing as my boundaries are very tightly drawn, this just makes me appear more average at those times.

I've always had serious problems with authority. My high school administration was under the impression that I was a 1337 H4X00R and tried to expel me in 1996 over it. I managed to "stay" by doing work study. By "stay" I mean I didn't show up and got a 0.6 GPA, but they graduated me anyway despite their 2.0 requirement because they wanted me gone. Work study was at a video game developer that most of you are probably familiar with.

I have a criminal lawyer on retainer in NY as well as multiple traffic attorneys in different jurisdictions. I have been arrested a couple times. Nothing that has ever made it to trial. I've never deliberately wronged anyone. In my adult life, I've never made a dollar that I don't think I earned by providing a product or service worth at least a dollar. The world just doesn't deal well with nonconformity.

I suppose you could also say I judge the rule and decide whether I'm going to follow it, rather than just following it. It's probably a good thing I didn't join the Air Force.

Not intentionally, but I feel sedated a lot more these days than I should probably be.

Crisscross lacing for shoes, straight bar lacing for boots.

Why do we only get 2 options when there are 2 trillion different possibilities?

People say I am. Of course, these are people that don't know me very well. In private I'm not at all uptight or serious, but I can't help it when I'm around strangers or acquaintances.

I am both. I shift from one side to the other depending on my mood and situation. I hate to lose control, so I never want to get drunk, or even flirt with the thought of doing drugs. I speak in a very correct manner and bad grammer annoys me. I am almost always on my best behaviour with friends, family or coworkers because to me, their opinions matter quite a bit.
But I recently discovered that I enjoying partying, in the sense that I like dancing and bantering with people. I can really get into it and dance without a thought for anything but how good it feels to just let go. But only when I am anonymous and am around people whose opinions I do not value.
Interesting that I can enjoy myself more and let go only when I am with strangers.
