How much you make -> Rent -> other important expenses -> should leave at least around $100 for food

Transport, utilities bills, spare money in case the soles fall off your shoes.

AU$100 to AU$150 per week if it's for yourself only.

Just get a lot of vegetables, beans and fruits. They are cheap. Eat meat once a week if you eat meat.

It's not just food you have to factor into your grocery budget. Don't forget things like toiletries, household products (cleaning etc), and if you have a pet food for them.
