Do you think you would figure out it was a prank before they told you? I watch this and think these people are mentally challenged somehow. How can someone not know they are being so obviously yanked? I would be looking around for a camera within 5 seconds of most of these yanks..

I honestly don't know. I remember seeing reruns of the really old Candid Camera with Alan Funt. The funniest one was of a little old lady sweeping a busy sidewalk. When random cute men walked by, she'd smack them on the butt with the broom. I might do that anyway, camera or no, just cuz.

Well, they would show only the people who actually fell for them on the air. They could have been waiting for hours before someone came along and got tricked.

I'd just laugh and call myself Sid after Sid from Flushed Away. :O)

Did you know that it was partially improvised?
They will actually re-shoot the scene again, (fix themselves up/make-up whatever) after being told they were on candid camera, and they would be recorded a second time.

staged and reshot? hmph. that is as bad as a laugh track.
