I believe the United Kingdom is essentially one country. The differences between the constituent "nations" are superficial. The country is facing huge challenges, and will need all its resources to deal with them. Fragmentation of such resources, through devolution and demands for separatism conducted by nationalist groups, is not helpful.

Keep an eye on our General Election in early May. A strong performance by the Scottish National Party, or worse its inclusion in a coalition government, could be pretty disastrous.

I get a bit annoyed, by the way, when some Americans refer to Britain as 'England'!

I can't be bothered being rude to anyone on this thread anymore, though you might disagree if you're a Scottish, Welsh or English Nationalist. :D

Eh... that's not something I see happen much, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. In fact, if I could rewrite my previous post, I'd remove "Scotsmen, Welshmen, and Northern Irishmen," since Americans tend only to make the "<country within UK> ≡ Britain" mistake with England.

Oh, and Sedantarian is a hexagonal prism. :D
