Interesting. I've been watching this thread, and you're the first male to say they've had a pet rat.

Someone (who does have rats, I guess, i.e. not me) should set up a poll (or Beatles_girl could change this thread to a poll).

Never had a rat, though I had a colleague who had 3. Seemed pretty cool pets.

I work with a few though ... ! :wink:

back before my parents got a divorce we would always have some type of pet. i think we had just about any type of pet that you can get a pet store except bugs aracnids. oh and we had pet rats and mice so that they could have babies. we woud then take the babies and feed them to my then 2 pet snakes.

So cute! I love rats, my favorite pet out of the 9 or so pet types I have had.
I used to carry mine around in my shirt's breast pocket where she would usually curl up and sleep all warm right near my heart. Or she would stand up and peer around. She also liked lying on the back of my neck under my long hair.
I just find it so hard when they pass away.
