How does it look so far?
Be gentle, but honest!
I would have attached a word file, but it won't let me.

Page one:

Waking up, I rub my eyes and try to focus. I look at the room around me and try to piece together the events of the past twenty-four hours. My pants are still on, I have a throbbing pain in my abdomen, and I feel dizzy. I try to stand, first one foot, steady, and then the other; now to hoist myself up and try not to fall.

I make my way to the bathroom and look in the mirror. Still blurry. I focus my eyes and try to remember how I got here. As my face comes into focus, I see my hair, tousled, and a black bruise under my left eye. I open the faucet and let the cold water pool in my hands before splashing it on my face.

I stagger to the closet to grab a shirt. My eyes focus, and the hundreds of voices in my head shrink down to one. Where is she, where is she. My mind suddenly flashes back to a dark room with red walls. Music. There was music playing, I cannot hear anything except for the pulsating music. I see her face. Her lips move, but I cannot hear what she is saying to me. I smell booze, cologne, sweat, and desperation. Suddenly a shot rings out, I see a blinding white, and then nothing.

My keys are in a dish by the door. I grab them and lock the door behind me. Stay calm. Act normal. I make my way to my car. Did I park it here? I open the door, climb in, start the car up and just think. I reach my hand under the seat to see if my gun is still there, it isn't. I put the seatbelt on, shift into gear and head to the highway. I hear a ringing coming from my phone. I answer it, no name shows up on caller ID, and all I hear is dead silence, then a laugh. The phone goes silent in my hand before I drop it on the floorboard. I drive.

No destination in mind. I just know that I have to go away, far away. I grip the wheel tighter as I drive into the horizon. I see other cars and signs blur past me as I go. My mind races as fast as I'm driving. I feel overwhelmed. The voices return.

Calm down. What do I know? I am alive, my gun is missing, I am alone. The note! Of course. I reach into my back pocket while driving. I almost forgot about the note. My mind flashes back to last night. I see her trying to talk. She laughs, reaches into her purse and writes something down on the back of a business card. I flip it over in my hand. Her number. I pull over, grab my phone from the floor and try to call. It rings four times before I hear a man's voice yell asking, “who the hell this is?” I panic and hang up.

As I sit on the side of the road contemplating my next move, I take a closer look at the business card, on the obverse it says her name, and the number that I had just called. I flip it over and see that this is a card for a beachside resort. Now I have a destination. The voices quiet down for a bit.

I run my fingers through my hair, put the seatbelt back on, and turn the car around to head for the coast. The drive was uneventful, but my mind would not stop! Where is she? Where did my bruise come from? As I get closer to the resort, I notice that the sky has a pale orange hue to it and the road looks purple. How hard was I hit last night? Weird. Just past the canyon, I see the large neon sign, this is the place. I pull into the parking lot in the back pointing to the street nust incase I need to leave in a hurry, and turn off the car.

After watching the front door for a few minutes, I realized that I was underdressed for this place. I reached into my glove compartment and pulled out my neck tie. I always joked that this was for

And page two:

emergency use only and here was the emergency!

I tucked my shirt in as I stepped onto the gravel parking lot feeling the rocks crush under my shoes as I walked towards the door. The greeter was a tall man in an evening coat and on his name tag it said that his name is S. Nihil, he opened the door and I stepped into an extremely dark hallway. I could feel the thumping of a heavy bass line, and I could smell perfume, “classy joint” I thought to myself. I walked about five more steps towards the sound of voices and stepped through the divide of a thick black velvet curtain, like I was being birthed into a another room.

Once I entered, and got my eyes used to the extremely bright lights, I started scanning the room. No faces looked familier at first, but the bright red walls made my head hurt.

Well.
That was painless.
Thanks to all of the trolls that chose to give me a pass.
I appreciate it.

I think it's pretty good so far! I'd like to see where you go with it.

I especially enjoyed the sense of atmosphere on page two.
