When I was a little kid they scared the hell out of me but after a while I looked forward to them, the more severe the better. :D

I don't mind them, but my pets (dogs and cats) were terrified of them. It's a pain when there's a power outage and you have to reset all the clocks in the house.

I'm usually fascinated by them, though I've been caught out in open country in some spectacularly violent ones that did frighten me.

I like them the most for the feeling afterwards. When we get a thunderstorm in the UK, it is nearly always after days of oppressively humid weather that makes me feel incredibly sluggish, sleep worse than ever, and often prone to headaches or migraine (I seem particularly sensitive to atmospheric pressure generally - I have to pop my ears a lot going up and down hills on the bus.) I love the feel of the cool, clean air and the petrichor aroma of the wet ground after a good summer thunderstorm - when the humid weather strikes, I often wish for one.

I love them, especially at night. I especially love the time just before the rain starts, when the wind picks up and you can see the lightning the distance as the storm approaches.

The only place I've been to with the most sever storms is Florida, Naples. I was in the hotel room and I opened the door after bright flashes, when a large lightning strike hit the tree the balcony shook like an earthquake and saw sparks. It was quite scary.

I absolutely hate them. I've been scared of thunderstorms all my life. They give me severe sensory problems which stop me from carrying out my day to day activities. I almost always wear noise cancelling headphones when a storm occurs to muffle the sound of thunder and I also try to move into an area with no windows so I can't see any lightning. I had therapy for it as a kid but it never worked. I do cope it with it better now than I did as a child but it can still be quite debilitating.
