Don’t take it personally, I t’s just business.

Quite literally.

It is, after all, “The Corporation of Canada,” and the mandate of every corporation is to make money. So, they crunch the numbers and let in those that will work/invest and pay taxes.

For all intents and purposes, I cannot become a naturalized Canadian citizen unless:

1. I have immediate family who are Canadian citizens.

2. I marry a Canadian citizen.

3. I acquire a more marketable skill set than I have now.

planning to marry anyone in canada?

do you know family there, have dual citizenship? have a job waiting, any work visas, any visas in general, been accepted to any schools there?

basically, how well developed is your plan.

i doubt canada is looking for US immigrants right now.

anyway, at least one province in canada is majority french-speaking, and while i have never been, i'm guessing many places will use both english and french names or spellings, particularly out east.

they use metric more than the americans do, but it probably isn't metricized to the extent mainland europe is, anglos seem to like imperial for perfectly understandable reasons (UK, i'm looking at you...)

I know Quebec is mostly French-speaking, but I think New Brunswick is as well.

Nunavut is mostly Inuit-speaking.

New Brunswick is mostly English speaking. They have French pockets in the eastern part of the province, especially in the Acadian Peninsula. And there are some French pockets near the border with Maine, too.

To me, Canada would be too cold in the winter. I would go somewhere in Europe or South America.

New Brunswick is the only officially bilingual province in Canada. French is quite prominent there.

I would take the Canadian cold if they'd take me.

It rarely even gets cold here on the Best coast. 8) No idea why anyone would move to the Least coast.

More likely retired fans of disposable income.

I've long been a fan of blustery central valley [California] weather, the winds are so warm and stout that one feels like one is flying when one leans forward into the headwind, and literally floats on it. i wonder if eastern Canada [at least in summer] has similar stout winds?

If you move to Canada be sure to move to Quebec! There’s a ton of different cultures in the province! Beautiful cities also fries with syrup! Canada has good health care and Canadians are really nice people but I think everywhere you go neurotypicals will be the same in speech! But Canada is a nice adventure! Its also really cold too! Cause the farther up north the colder it is.
