Remembering my parents' landline phone number they got rid of several years ago, as well as the birthdays of several people I'll probably never see again.

What is your most valued possession?

My two favorite stuffed animals. A pig i got when i was born and a skunk i got when i was 6 or 7. I will still take the skunk places but i don’t want to risk my pig now that she’s 16 years old and rather fragile.

What’s one of your pet peeves? (Something that annoys you)

I don’t like it when strangers call me a pet name like honey, sweetie, or darling.

Same question.

Grammatical errors. I've gotten more tolerant over the years but they still bother me when they're in contexts where people really should know better, like official documents or school assignments.

Same question.

I remember phone numbers and birthdays from people I knew 50 years ago. ^^^

My pet peeve today is that every time I search the Beatles Rubber Soul LP on YouTube, I get this annoying thing:

(?! !!)

It's driving me nuts.

Beyond that, a pet peeve is the lack of empathy some people exhibit.

Folks will use the word "ton" as a superlative for things that are intangible and not measurable in weight. Like "I love you tons", or "Billy Joel has made a ton of hit songs". Thats ok.

My peeve is when folks extend that usage to things that can and often are measured in "tons" but in an absurd way.

Like saying "Texas produced a TON of oil last year"(actually heard a Utube host utter that phrase). Or "Kansas grows a ton of wheat each year". Texas produces about half of a million "tons" of oil a year, and Kansas harvests about a million tons of wheat a year. You sound juvenile and imbecilic if you talk that way.

Same question.

On that note, I get irked when people use "amount" instead of "number", like "There was a large amount of snowflakes in the yard." It's strange how we can be pedantic about some things and not others.

same q continued

I get annoyed when I'm walking if i can see someone up ahead and they're walking slightly slower than me so i know I'm going to be looking at the back of them for ages while i catch them up and then I'm going to be uncomfortably close to them as i approach to pass and then again once I've passed. So i have to decide whether to change my pace, either slow down or speed up, and I start to hate these people a little bit for ruining my walk.

Have you ever fermented anything?

No I never have. Have you ever been to the state of New Mexico?

Nope

What’s a movie or show you love that cannot be interrupted or else it’ll mess with your enjoyment

Movie: O Brother, Where Art Thou?

TV Show: NCIS

How often do you have to cope with the presence of people younger than you who act
very selfish and inconsiderate?

Not very often ... but there are plenty of people older than me who act that way.

What kind of weather is ideal for you?

I own a book called The Expert Way of Making Love which was written by Dr. R Swaroop.

It contains such instructive gems as:

Quote:
Many wives have the habit of uttering phrases that outwardly denote pain or prohibition even though inwardly they are experiencing the intensest pleasure. They cry out in fits of ecstacy things like: "Oh Lord, you are killing me!", "That's enough!", "Spare me!", "Please let me alone!", "For heaven's sake, don't!". Husbands may take it that the more a woman cries out to be spared at such a time, the more she desires to be squeezed and handled roughly so as to hasten her orgasm.

My copy dates from 1963, I don't know when it was first published.

But yes, absurd. A doctor no less.

Same q, then.

A compilation of some of Franz Kafka's works. Kafka is known to be an absurdist.

What is your favorite genre of art?
