The first time I heard New Kids on the Block on the radio, I thought I was listening to a Monkees song.

from being stoned or anything outlandish,

I've reached the age where I'm starting to think that braces (US translation: suspenders) are a better solution than a belt for the perennial problem of unintentional trouser descent (UTD).

I never watch half the things that are in my watchlist

I'm artistically dyslexic. Perhaps the correct term is dysartic?
I never understand art. It means nothing to me until someone explains it to me, and then I think it's really cool that someone thought to do that.
Poetry? Incomprehensible. Prose, no problem.
I never know what songs are about, unless it's really obvious like in a Country song. But then I find Country songs to be
maudlin, corny, or both.
The true, or inner/deeper meaning of a book? WTF are you talking about? When I read a book I experience it, and I either like the experience or I don't. Looking for its 'meaning' takes the joy out of it.
I could go on, but you get the picture.

I'm willing to explore different avatars and ideas, but I always come back to the things I prefer.

I used to wouldn't say "grapefruit" because I couldn't understand why it has "grape" in its name

Then I decided to just chill out about it
