This is my 2000th post.

It's not really as exciting as I thought it'd be

Pause. Why do you have preferences about how underage boys present themselves? Sounds like a red flag.

IMO it's a bit of overreaction. Preferences in looks of people of particular group doesn't automatically mean there's sexual drive towards them.

It sounds like my neighbour's running a bath when he's having a pee

Underage is a poor choice of word to use, because there's no such thing as being too young for earrings.

I got the impression that AA doesn't like underage boys wearing earrings, because he doesn't like seeing gender norms being broken by younger people.

That probably offends some people, but I'm pretty sure that is what he is thinking.

Yeah, I doubt most would hate seeing young girls wearing earrings. The gender norms here are so arbitrary and silly. There’s nothing wrong with personal expression in whatever form it may take. Well, most of the time.

They're not underage boys, they're just boys.

^I don't really see how it's different to say this or that way? If it means the same?

The problem here is it's just your opinion. Some people see ear piercing in kids / younger teenagers as inappropriate and potentially dangerous for health (in case of kids in particular), regardless of gender, so for them of course there's an age barrier. It may not be necessarily matter of gender norms

IMO AnonymousAnonymous can find earrings simply visually unfit for boys, and he used "underage" to highlight he means kids / teenagers in particular.

When people publish posts here, that does make them open to scrutiny and criticism. We can disagree with the content of posts in most threads and in most forums.

I think people can find a break in gender norms difficult sometimes. It’s a human thing, so it may be especially useful to be challenged on it because it helps us to question our own ingrained assumptions and biases.
