You mean saying "lol" instead of laughing, and "Hello @Fred" ?

I more or less talk like I write anyway, only the writing is a bit clearer because I edit it and I've got more time to think. And in real life I don't go into long rambles so much because people can shut me up by talking over me and walking away.

 so basically you talk nothing like you do online in real life

I type as I'm thinking and it's usually off the cuff but I still don't think it's the same as in real life

You get higher quality here because in real life they won't let me explain myself in depth. But you've got to admit I've done a good few good one-liners online as well as my deep scholarly essays.

Voice type and accent are two things missing from written communication, versus spoken communication.

The two aren't really comparable in my opinion.

Yeah that's it and plus people irl don't always listen for whatever reason and that's just normal but people online might take more time to read what's in front of them and pay attention more

To be fair though I'm a better listener than I am a reader

Ah yeah, that makes sense considering you have mentioned something about dyslexia before? I hope you don't mind me mentioning that.

She's just had the house upside down to catch a flipping spider and the bloody thing got away

Next time we see it it'll be a full grown adult

I read better than I listen because reading goes at my chosen speed.

Send her over here to catch our spiders. They're much more dangerous than British ones. But I'm happy to wait till she's finished her basic training.

I'm a great believer in sprays of diluted washing-up liquid for bringing down those little flies. And fly paper if you can still get it cheap. Looks disgusting but by gum does it work. Just don't let it get in your hair.

I chose Matt Steiner over Sgt Schultz. I chose peace over war. The Olympics are all about peace.

Today I officially moved out of my apartment. Moving is always stressful but I don't mind it as much as most people because it's also fun to put things in boxes and pack them into the car. It's like playing tetris with all my belongings. What I really like is helping other people move, where you get the fun of the boxes and the packing without the stress of actually moving yourself.

Anyway, this has been a pretty good year, but I'm glad to be out of that s**thole I was living in. My parents were paying them a fortune every month in rent, but it was built so cheaply that everything was broken all the time and it was atrociously managed. So that was the other fun part, that I got to finally leave that dump.

Over the summer I'll be living at a much cheaper place with nicer landlords but more annoying roommates. Better known as my parents' house.
