Right, the 2027 scrapping thing was a Tory plan and they've been kicked out now. But the new lot are thinking about alternatives. I hope we don't end up with a broadband tax or council tax levy to screw it out of everybody even if they don't watch BBC. I don't see any plan that isn't going to suck, but charging people who don't use it is especially bloody evil.

Using no scientific metric the options I think are

Japan, very chill and forgiving.
The Vatican, in theory this should be the one, the centrepiece of a religion founded on forgiveness.
Canada, from what I have seen as equally apologetic as forgiving.
