Isn't a barbecue and a hosepipe tantamount to an outdoor kitchen

My neighbours above were taking the piss with their noise earlier so I've put some loud music on to drown them out.

That's the spirit. 8) I used to put my speakers against the wall where their noise was coming from and turn the volume up till I couldn't hear their noise. It was the only way I could get to sleep, but unfortunately for them I couldn't turn it off again till I woke up in the morning. After a couple of years of it they complained to me about it, so I explained why I was doing it. I don't think they'd ever realised I could hear them. After that we had a truce and we get on quite well these days.

My ex used to do that and leave it on while we went away for the weekend

The neighbour at that time was a dj and she used to come home at all hours having bloody parties

I don't think it was effective to be honest

Sleep habit to fix: falling asleep right after sundown, waking up 2-3 hours in around 8pm for whatever reason, then sleeping past midnight just to sleep another 8-10 hours more.

It looked like I sleep way early, but it's not as good as it appeared.

I fricking refuse that sleep consumes past 10 hours out of the 24 hours of my day.

Ah well, a DJ would have had more fire-power than my neighbours ever had. My speakers were bigger than their speakers so they were never going to win.

His speakers were probably like a pair of quality street tins with a bit of wire attached

Should I get a Beatles shirt or a Rolling Stones shirt?

Do you already have a Kinks shirt?

It's a tough call. I'd go for a Stones shirt, because although I prefer the Beatles, the Stones are less mainstream. They've promoted the Beatles so much that their merchandise is commonplace.

Poor her. Thankfully cats seem to do alright with no teeth. Claire Luvcats' cat Lala had to get hers all extracted, all that changed is she's fallen a bit in the social standings and punches more.

My mom and I just had to shove a pill down her throat and got our arms all scratched up. She'll definitely be okay without teeth.

Repletion is comfort and hygge. The more stresses and off kilter I feel the more I cling to the known. I guess I'm lucky enough to indulge in known repetition at least

Now there's a coincidence. We had to take our cat to the vet today for a jab to control her itching and something on her bum that needs fluid squeezing out of it now and then. She didn't like that part at all, not that I blame her. She didn't like the journey either, but at least it was a short one so she didn't throw up or crap herself.

It hasn't been a fun day at all. I've been figuring out the answers to the questions on the US passport application. Some of the stuff they want to know isn't what a reasonable person should be expected to know. And I've already found 7 ambiguities and problems with the bloody thing. It's a messy business, and they've got no excuse for it. UK passport applications are easier, at least they always have been when I've done them. Why does the USA insist on making people's lives so complicated?

Also not much fun was having to divide a new pack of grated carrots into 6 little pots for freezing, so the shelf life is extended. They go a bit mushy when they're thawed, but I only use a bit in salads for the alpha-carotene, so I can't really tell. Anyway I had to do all that before I could prepare today's salad, and then the so-called self-sealing bag of grated cheese wouldn't close properly without a lot of messing. So that's half my time gone just doing boring, unchallenging, menial tasks. It's like being at work again.
