Literally or figuratively?

In the literal sense, when I see a big button I can't help but push it

In the figurative "pushing buttons" by annoying someone. No I don't like to annoy people.

I'm more of a switch toggler and knob twiddler myself.

I think the green man button is just a placebo when you really need it to work. They've denied it but it doesn't seem to help me at all. By the time it can be bothered to stop the traffic for me, I've already crossed the road and then the cars have to stop for nothing. A motorist got really cross with me once when I made that happen to him. But he wasn't being logical at all.

In some European country it was illegal to cross unless the green man was lit up, even if it was safe to do that, but it wasn't illegal to press the button and walk on without crossing, so this activist bloke went round pressing all the buttons as a protest against the law being silly. The pedestrial in me kind of admired him for that. The motorist in me hadn't been born at that time.

Anyway, I like pressing buttons but there are limits. If it's a public button you don't know where the previous users have had their fingers.

Depends.
Surface-mounted monostable (one position, that means it returns to previous state when released) tinies like e.g. in phones are IMO not interesting
But I find bigger bistable switches (commonly found as "mechanical" power toggle and on older Hi-Fi equipment) quite enjoyable to use or just to mess around with

No, I refuse to annoy people, but many people around me are annoying
whenever I cross paths with them.

Oh figurative buttons are different. I've sometimes annoyed people without meaning to, but people sometimes get set off by strange things, so without some kind of warning it's hard to avoid, unless you want to stay silent forever just to be on the safe side. I suppose the best thing is just to try and take reasonable care, and if a mistake is made it should be possible for somebody to properly explain what went wrong. Either the injured party or a calm bystander. If not, accidents are going to happen and nobody will every know how.

If we're talking about literal buttons, yes, I love pushing buttons, flicking switches, all those things. I was so excited when a light in my house died so I could flick the switch repeatedly without the light going crazy.

Somehow fidget toys have never appealed to me though. I think I can only enjoy fidgeting with something when that's not its intended purpose.

Buttons, knobs, footswitches, and keys.
Ham radio operators have a lot of these.

"knob twiddler" really made me snicker. I feel so immature.

I don't like tapping though. Clicking is more likely to work. At least for me. And I don't like pressing those so-called buttons on some of these modern devices where the buttons are made really cheaply so that they bounce and give you two presses when you wanted one, or nothing at all. They don't make buttons like they used to.

Oh my goodness! If I'm in the toy department in a store I press as many buttons as I can. I love it lol
