In a perfect world, cheddar would start out extra old.

Is that all they do to make strong cheese, just leave weak cheese to mature? I thought they put something in it. Mind you, manufacturers love to use additives instead of going to the bother of running a traditional process.

I like the idea of getting high on cheese and ending up writing wacky poetry.

You can get high as a pie if you put a bit of cheese in your pipe

But I haven't got a pipe any more. I broke it in 1973 when I tapped it against a wall to knock out the ash. I went back to roll-ups after that.

Someone I know on Facebook who has been diagnosed with ADHD keeps calling herself "tism" on Facebook, like for example she posted that she was going on a "tism vacation" with her boyfriend, and a friend of her's posted something like "you tisms deserve it xxx" or something like that.

I read that "tism" is a new term that autistic people like to call themselves, although I've never seen it here. Also I didn't think she has autism, though ADHD explains a lot about her. Maybe people with ADHD also refer to themselves as tism? Help me out here?

Ps. I don't like to ask her.

Read all about it here, apparently:

https://www.neurosparkhealth.com/blog/u ... ng-of-tism

Personally I see it as a right load of rubbish, and I'm not going to start using it. I don't find it offensive, I just don't like the look of it and for me it's not a helpful term at all. I was always OK with "aspie" so I'll carry on using that. Don't get me started with "person who has autism." That one's just too long and cumbersome for me to want to bother with.

Yes, the 'cheesiness' increases through aging. I've had 10 year old cheddar that was like getting punched in the mouth, by cheese.

Maybe she has both autism and ADHD, even if she doesn't appear outwardly to have autism?

But that's not getting high. Still, that means I might be able to sharpen my own cheddar just by leaving it to mature for a while. Only one snag, it grows green mould when it's past its sell-by date, and the result doesn't taste nice at all, it tastes like green mould. I suspect Walmart are doing something to the cheddar to stop people maturing their own so they'll pay extra for "extra sharp" cheddar.

Talking of cheese, I don't understand why Walmart puts a bit of paper between every slice of sliced extra sharp cheddar but they don't do that for the ordinary sharp cheddar. Do extra sharp cheddar slices stick together more easily than sharp cheddar slices? If so, why?

Have you tried doing it in a cheese cave?

I find it quite positive to have a choice of a more casual approach to their disability (or whatever you like to call it). I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but for those of us who are struggling to accept ourselves as spectrumers, it might be okay. Sadly I still haven't reached that acceptance stage yet, despite being diagnosed for over 20 years. But maybe with more people being diagnosed these days and autism not just being confined to the low-functioning level 3 folk that I had often been exposed to when I was growing up as a non-stereotypical high-functioning Aspie with social skills, in time I might grow to accept my differences. But not yet. I have a feeling I'll get Alzheimer's before then, and the Alzheimer's might change my way of thinking and make me openly admit ''hey everyone, I have Asperger's syndrome!'' Something I have never, ever said out loud in my entire life.

It's amazing what one song can do to a person.

How could anyone in their right mind be content or happy when we live in such a crapsack world?
