Actually if you're talking about the Trump administration as the interesting thing, we ran much the same experiment in the UK and after a couple of years of Boris I think people decided that old-style boring governments weren't as bad as they'd thought. The USA seems to be taking a bit longer to see that, but I think they'll get there.
The Trump regime is only part of it. It's the constant wildfires and late-stage capitalism too.
