I agree about Facebook. I didn't realize that my account was shut down until just last week. Also the game Dice Dreams. That game has cost me so much money, it's not funny.

I agree with most of the above. I especially think these are the worst:
- Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Meta altogether, WhatsApp, Threads, X, and Bluesky
- DOH (DNS over HTTPS). DOT would have sufficed - DNS over TLS. Why involve HTTPS, especially when its got nothing to do with the non-HTTP-related uses of the internet (think Deltachat, XMPP, etc)? Whoever pushes for DOH - they're an a**hole. Whoever pushes for DOT, or just plain old DNS or DNSSEC - those are the "good guys".
- Using an app for everything, when it should primarily have an HTTPS interface. Like one shouldn't have to install an app just to pay parking, take a bus, book a train ticket, plane ticket, meditate, etc. Please make nice, performant (Blade-minimized) Laravel web apps instead, people!
- touchscreens in cars. Also power locks, doors, sunroofs, etc. Basically, overengineered things. On vans - flimsy side-runner things you can step on, which extend out and retract. There should be a sturdy smartphone cradle installed stock, USB ports, and bluetooth, with a place to put one's portable bluetooth speaker, for the car stereo.

There's so many horrible technologies to avoid:
- MS Access
- Games that violate your privacy
- iCloud
- GAFAM in general

Generative LLMs - May ye love it or not, but it's nonetheless destroying internet even further by misleading content and overloading smaller sites. And yeah, just how much electricity it eats...
DRM
Planned obsolescence, service-tethered appliances, hardware etc.

Linux-specific:
systemd et al
ALSA - Not that it's harmful or anything, Linux just could stick with OSSv3 (Like *BSDs did) instead creating inferior alternative to it

I'm curious what you don't like about these cartridges. :nerdy:

I think they dont really do anything a .270 Win or a 7mm Rem Mag couldnt do for most hunters in most situations. I think the new rounds are mostly just new attempts by the gun and ammo companies to make more money. Call me old-fashioned but I prefer the .270 Win and the 7mm Rem Mag to those rounds and I dont see any personal use for me to have for those rounds for hunting in Texas. Also the ammo would prolly be harder to find than the .270 Win Mag and the 7mm Rem Mag and there still may be a good chance those rounds may become obsolete soon. I guess I am just being a fudd lol.

It seems (to me) like they represent technology marching on, but also that returns are diminishing. At some point they might replace older 7mm rounds, but inertia might keep the older rounds around for quite awhile because the new ones only offer a small improvement in performance.

Ammo seems to work like a lot of other technical standards, if the new version only offers a small improvement it might not catch on, or it might take forever to catch on because of how widespread the older product is.

At least it's easier to re-chamber a gun than change out all the ports on your computer.

Bad round, or because of Kennedy?

I feel like Oswald would have just used some other rifle if the Carcano wasn't available to him.

Mainly because of JFK and also because it was enemy round in World War Two. I agree with you. I wouldnt mind shooting hogs with 6.5 Carcano if I ever get one or maybe a deer if I ever find good hunting ammo.
