Sycamore in winter has a lot going for it too, when the leaves are out of the way and you can see the way the twigs are arranged. They look very witchy and mystical to me. But they weren't quite as good after I'd stopped taking the mushrooms, so maybe it's just me.

When people say "I laugh so hard at that joke every time" when talking about a comedy TV show, do they literally laugh so hard? Or does it just mean that they sort of laugh in their head or smile and find it funny enough to be memorable?

I mean surely it's not like:-

Comedian: Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side
Viewer:BWAAAAHAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAHAA-- *almost dies*
