They are watching to determine if we are an acceptable species. Will we exist in an endless state of wars or can we merge and coexists with other very advanced species that exist around us.

Assuming they are watching us, my guess is they have already mapped out our progression. An interesting possibility is that humans (being left to their own devices) are not as important as preserving the earth itself. Perhaps we can be replaced like our ancestors Homo erectus and Neanderthals were. But our blue planet is the jewel in this part of space.

If there were actually extra-terrestrials here with advanced scientific knowledge and technical abilities, don't you think that they would know how to keep from showing themselves?

Any time you see a UFO, the one thing you can be sure of is that they do not involve any beings from other planets. At best, they may be more advanced military aircraft, but that is far from likely. Nature playing tricks on your eyes and brain is far the more likely.

By that logic, they don't want us to see the color gurkle and so it proves they exist because we can't see gurkle.
