Not really because she already lived in her own world and didn't recognize anyone. Anyway, even when she was still healthy, she didn't talk to my mother and me.

I have 5 aunts and 4 or 5 uncles depending on how you count them

My grandmother had 18 aunts and uncles--two Catholic families in rural Illinois will do that.

I'd like to be an aunc (gender-neutral term I made up) someday but not having any siblings makes that more difficult.

Oh also I had a great great uncle who I never met but was almost certainly autistic

Alright that's all the aunc facts I have

My cousin and his wife live next door to a minor celebrity, and they're sending me autographed pictures I don't want.

There was a bit of a Mama Mia type of situation generations before me. Granted, with two potential fathers rather than three. And far less eventful than that film.

An ancestor of mine, she was rumoured to have a had a fling with a travelling musician. A minor celebrity not exactly known for being the relationship type.

Shortly after, she met and fell in love with another man whom she married months later, then she found out she was pregnant not long after.

Granted, we don't even know if the rumours about the fling were true. We'll never know. It's a mystery lost to time.

That's interesting

My supposed grandmother had an affair with an American who came over during ww2...he was native American apparently and that's how my dad came to be

The rest is history

When my cousin decided to give her newborn daughter the name Ksenia (which is a rare name, typically a Russian one to boot), it was quite a sensation in her village - everybody wondered where for heaven's sake, she got a name that unusual  Even if it isn't THAT unusual - it is just rare, uncommon, that's all.

My aunt and uncle were out walking in the woods and my aunt accidentally stepped on a yellowjacket nest (yellowjackets are wasps that build their nests underground). She got stung around 8 times. :(

My maternal grandfather have a knack for tracking certain people or confusing to reach places -- and I inherited that from him.

My great grandfather is somewhat famous because he sailed from Hawaii back to his homeland in the Philippines on a small boat he had built himself

There's even website articles about him.

https://kahimyang.com/articles/2963/flo ... llen-samar

Also my great grandmother on my Mom's side was apparently into what people today refer to as "granny witchcraft", although the wise old women like her never referred to themselves as "witches". She knew a lot of home remedies based on herbs native to the area plus some old fashioned superstitions that would seem like "magic" to any outsider looking in. Like she believed she could cure warts by buying them with pennies, tie a piece of jewelry to a thread of hair and dangle it over a pregnant woman's belly to determine the gender of her child, use tobacco smoke to cure ear infections, etc. She also grew up during the Great Depression and like many southern matriarchs she was very independent and took care of herself. She lived off the land and grew her own garden cor food and knew how to make homemade wine and mayhaw jelly.

I had very interesting great grandparents, too bad I didnt get to know them. :(

My paternal grandfather was an alcoholic and smokes like a chimney. He's also aggressive and obnoxiously trollish.

No idea what happened to him.
His parents (my great grandparents) are still alive when he was still alive himself, and I lived nearby them longer.

So I don't understand where those vices of his came from when I look at my great grandparents (his parents) and grand aunts (his still living siblings).

I theorized that he's parentified.
Like any other elder child in both sides of my family. (My direct ancestors for the last 3 generations are all eldest sons or daughters of many numbered siblings)
And the shenanigans that my greatgrandpa (his dad) had been doing with women.

Also he married young; like he and grandma are like 16-17. That might be it, too.

My first cousin is a lesbian and has a wife whom she married in France - or at least she did have a wife for quite a short time because she dumped her and now my cousin has a new girlfriend who is from Belarus.

My other fist cousin used to have a husband (she divorced him several years ago - a VERY tempestuous divorce) who was bisexual and left her for his best buddy.

My very distant cousin whom I don't know, also married a man who was secretely gay.

My other cousin, also a very distant one, underwent a so called "sex reassignment surgery" and claims she's a man now (even if you can't change your chromosomes), she legally changed her name etc.

My other favourite cousin is probably gay - one of my uncles once refused shaking hands with him when they met because he was afraid he had previously put it into another's guy's anus and got disgusted with the perspective of shaking his hand.

Oldest brother abused my sister and myself in a most criminal manner .And became a Aircraft Pilot .He could not get a job with the airlines, but did fly prisoners about for the Sheriffs dept. Next oldest brother was not quite as abusive, but still was.Assisting the oldest brother still abusive and eventually went to College and worked for Rocketdyne, then onto working at Boings manned Space program as a engineer , Eventually got married to a dog trainer, they both did not want to move out of my parents home. until in later years.
Making for a very difficult life for both my non verbal sister and I . Manipulating our mom to unwittingly help in abuse.,our abuse. She trusted them ,not me .But I moved out early , after trying to run away from home at 5 yrs old. Had two very loving Aunts and Uncles who worked in the old Movie and TV industry .and one cousin, who had a accident in his 20s and they put a metal plate in his head.

My sister works in an office somewhere and I'm not jealous of her at all. I wouldn't want to have to dress up to be stuck in a cubicle all day.

My great-uncle murdered his wife and infant child and his total punishment was 3 months in the state hospital.
