Yesterday, after a day of the screen saver (blank screen), the graphics decided not to return when I was ready to use the computer yesterday afternoon.
I found a work around, and Civilization 7 works fine on my Linux computer. I'm currently working on a project for a friend, and she needs it before February 14, seven 3d printed hearts with a name of a grandchild on each. So I need to focus on that because I've never worked on a project like this with 3D printer. I have not had it very long. OS son says it is doable. It seems like it should be "easy" enough because I've done similar things with Ray Tracing.
If you are asking about the names, again, that is a nod to my sons and the game Magic the Gathering. Something we've been playing since... 1998, or so. So I have computers named after Magic the Gathering cards, because it reminds me of my sons.
The Cow computer was named because I usually use cards that are single word cards for names, like Grindstone, Worldslayer, Deathender, Seer, Akroma. The Linux computer is named Windstorm. There are a few more computers with similar names. Akroma as many cards using that name. So, that computer rotates the cards for it's desktop background. I named it COW because I thought it was funny, and I thought the card was funnier. I'm not 100% it is a real card. People make mockups all the time.
If you asking what the Interrupted Cow is about, I'll explain the best I can. Interrupted Cow can be played anytime. That is what the Flash designation is for. What is does is essentially stop the opponent from attacking the other player unless what they play is a mana ability. I'll have to ask OS for an example of that. I always check with him to make sure I'm reading the card correctly. I'm generally happy if I get it partially right.
Last status: COW with the new graphics card, booted in a lower resolution. I did a nice orderly reboot (as opposed to turning it off) and it started fine, but then went black again. So it is not the card. I'm wondering if it is the graphics card driver? As soon as I get it to boot with a picture again, I'll turn off the screensaver.
My friend is the only person I do and computer stuff for and that is because If I mess things up, she will not get mad at me while I try to fix things. She asked me who I call for computer problems. It told her I call me, but since I know it's me calling about a problem, I don't answer. Just let me fix it without my help.
I could go into more detail about each thing, but only if you ask for it.
